Hi Flupper1,

Very nice table and pretty damn work !!!

I've a little problem with insert since 1.1 version. If i launch Diner directly in VPX, ... no problem. When i launch Diner via PinballX, some insert light keep black.

Here is a video (in french sorry !!!) to show you the problem ! :

https://youtu.be/0v5LIHzzq-c

Have you an idea to resolve this ??

Thanks in advance !

I did have this once with the 1.0 version, but only when I had started Diner very often without closing VPX (I do not use pinballX). I will check today if I can think of something. Are you sure that PinballX is not using another version of VPX maybe?

I have this issue as well now, both with 1.0 and 1.1. And to make it worse, also with the GI (global illumination), I have seen this also happening in a video by laylow with the 1.0 version. It looks like this (GI should be on, the ramp is lit up like if the GI is on):

screenshot98_t.jpg

It is hard to reproduce, I just got it several times (either the inserts and/or the GI). After that no more. What did help to fix it:

- (not a real solution): disable B2S in VPX preferences. This could indicate it has something to do with focus issues among screens.

- Maybe a solution: change the depth bias of the lights responsible.

Could you test the last one by changing this:

- in the editor, select only layer 2 (first the # and then click on the 2)

- select the left yellow arrow light, just above the flipper (on the right in the properties it should say "Light10")

- change the depth bias from 0 to -100

Save and run the table with PinballX. If the left yellow arrow now works in pinballX, I will change this for all the "black" lights and upload a 1.2 version.

Top 3 best looking game for me. Amazing job man.

10/10, really not many tables can even compare to this masterpiece.

:love39:

PS. don't see any lights issue when launching with PBX in Windowed Fullscreen mode, maybe try this.

One day i'll build Vitalik statue out of used AMD gpu's.

I start the v1.1 a few times with PinballX and have no problems with the lights.

GI does not work for me for either 1.0 or 1.1 launching directly from the VPX editor or hyperpin.

Well, I just disabled B2S in VPX preferences and GI now works..

@grozby88 @in2kiss @anybodyelse:

Could you test this 1.2 candidate? It has:

- all insertlights now have depth bias -10

- one of the GI lights also now has depth bias -10

- I purposely switch on GI in the init script (once, at table start), if for some reason the rom does not switch it on when starting the table.

Does it also work properly with the directb2s? For me it does, with Pookamoondo's backglass.

Yes man GI is working now properly, thanks for that quick update. B2S is also working good for me, i'm using animated version. I think it's already here on forums.

One thing i've noticed and i can't get over it: when i start this table in Forced full screen mode, after Table Init VPX crashes. I need to play in Windowed Full screen. Same crash occur with both versions. Do you guys play with Forced Full Screen?

One day i'll build Vitalik statue out of used AMD gpu's.

Normally the crash is caused by the following registry setting:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Freeware\Visual PinMame\diner_l4

and then set:

- ddraw to 0

- direct3d to 0

Run again with forced full screen, should work now!

I think I might have found a bug. In the first version (? - see below) it was possible to switch lighting set-ups with Ctrl. This is no longer possible. However, when I change the lighting in the main program, it looks OK at first but when the ball is plunged and it comes out of the scoop and the flashers start, the lighting is back to a darker setting. I have tried earlier versions and I remember that you could change the lighting and contrast with Ctrl. or Shift (while you were not playing) (I am not sure which one it was...) but I could not do this anymore. Not even with the first version

But wow, what a great looking and playing table!

It would be great if you could have a look into this :-)

EDIT: Revised my post after finding out when the lighting issue starts
