No. I live quite far north in Norway and the snow hasn't left the ground quite yet. But, I hope and believe that I'll start the last part of the build in about two weeks time. But, well, like mjr said in another thread. All about nudge has to do with the weigh of the cabinet, where components are placed and even the type of floor that it rests on. So, my settings, even if we had the exact same hardware would not necessarily fit us both.

What I've noticed though is that my setting with DOF on is not very good, but, that is also something that I expect. The nudge sensor is just laying there on the bottong of the cab with quite a lot of cables on and around it. What I will try first, is to make a beam across behind the coin-door. I've planned to put some switches there that will get triggered when I press the coin buttons. So, that could also solve the fact that I want to keep the device a bit away from the contractors.

Lets see how it goes. I surely will share any info ... that I'm pleased with - don't you worry :)

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Thanks for the update! I did have it mounted on the side of the cab but too much dof triggered it. I did as you said you are going to do I added a piece of wood spanning across the cabinet just inside coindoor. It's better but still gets triggered when just hitting the flipper button and the contactor fires. I decreased sensitivity and increased dead zone over and over again. I will have to keep messing with it. Thanks again for the update! Hope the snow melts fast for you!

Thank you Umpa for that info. At least now I know a bit more of what to expect. Maybe I need to re-think the placement all together. Good info ! Appreciated.

Few nudging questions

I have a deconstructed sidewinder (sounds like a fancy cocktail! ;) ) and it works, but.....

1. Quite often I get both warnings and a tilt all at once - which setting allows controls the sensitivity? (I'd expect 1 warning for what I did, not both and the tilt - it's like it senses it too quickly)

2. On a couple of it won't warn or tilt (WPT VPX is the one I recall specifically)

3. On a couple left and right nudges always go left

Can a table override the nudging settings the way it can with video?

Maybe I need better equipment - has the Sidewinder method been beaten completely now (4 years old!) by the ones talked about above?

Actually, most people say that they like it more how it works on VP9. So, the answer is a big yes.

Really or is this fake news?

@laylow & @knorr

Could either of you help with a question.

I bought the JoyWarrior 24F14-WP and it was very simple to setup and thank you Knorr for your settings, it would have saved me hours.

I have mounted mine about 45cm into the cab and it provides a very nice side to side nudge but the forward nudge is a bit small by comparison so I may move it forward maybe 15cm.

Anyway, my question is, during the calibration tool, my readings for the X, Y & Z axis move around. For example the X axis jumps around between 8 & 30, the Y axis 59-81 and Z axis from -7455 to -7471. Is this normal??

With the dead zone set to 4 the ball doesn't seem to move around.

Also, do you have an Analogue TILT setting that seems to work.

Thanks so much. BV3.

It does. Thanks so much Knorr, very much appreciated. I can tinker with the TILT settings, but maybe laylow has some.

Its really a great product and so easy to set up. Thanks for the advice.

Last thing Knorr, do you need to have the calibration window open for it to be recognised?

I started my first table today and it didn't nudge, once I opened the calibration window it worked.

Is that the same for you? Thanks so much. BV3.

curious, why would you need this product?  Isn't the KL25Z board the thing everyone seems to use or base their nudge device on? Its relatively cheap too.

How easy is it to use ?
Just plug it in the usb port and that's it,
or is it complicated ?
is there a tutorial of some kind ?

The  KL25Z board is used by some of the commerical projects (Zebs, VirtuaPin's one I believe and also another one I've seen advertised in Australia.)   There is a open source project called Pinscape that is discussed elsewhere where.    Take a look here to the project home page  :  https://developer.mb...r/wiki/Homepage

You do not need to make the whole project or expansion boards. Revision v1 is just on the board it self.
Here is the basic version:

1) buy the KL25Z board - Approx $15-$25
2) download the firmware from the projetc site: https://developer.mb...r/wiki/Homepage
3) install the software
4) connect the board to the PC/Visual Studio and set it up as the accelerometer  for nudging

you can also use the board for button inputs as the board also acts as a gaming encoder.
5) Wire up buttons to the KL25Z board for button inputs.

If I was making a mini cab without all the DOF etc, I would still take this route.

Here are a couple demo videos: https://www.youtube....h?v=YYoIvZfWL7o
                                                   https://www.youtube....h?v=kpOYuaZ78tE

I found it easy to set up the board by itself following the build guide I linked to.  The second part, the expansion boards, is another project in itself.  :)
KiwiBri, you wouldn't know the Australian one you saw advertised that you mentioned website or where to find it at all? I'd like to check it out as I'm in Australia.
Thanks
