Thx again for this beauty... continue with your 4k tables and I "have to" buy a new PF monitor for the Cab ;)

The gamingplay is fine, sound is fine, only bug I encountered:

The tiefighter is completely black (I think the "texture" is not displayed properly)...

I looked in the "image manager" and found the correct picture of a tie fighter, named "tiefighter", size is 512x512 ....   not sure if this means something for the bug...

Setup:  no Cab, only PC on 1920x1200 Screenresolution...

Thx for a hint...

Regards :)

YouTube says it is already public.  Anything else I should be doing?

*edit*  Ok, try now.

Thanks, now it works.

For me that sounds still perfectly okay, but i can understand that some people may find it too low, especially when compared to the old emulation code. Unfortunately, there is this problem: http://www.vpforums....=18#entry350875

Can the sound not be balanced between machines by the user?  In this case, the volume setting is max, "31", which should be overpowering the machine sounds.  The user should be able to turn the louder machines down to mid-range on the volume scale so that they are balanced with the more quiet machines by turning those up.  Setting the volume once per machine should fix that?

I can juice more volume through my Windows mixer, but then it would be out of balance and I have to shut down Pinball X each time I want to play a Sega table (or whatever) to change my Windows volume.  Better, IMO, to set it once in pinmame and let the user balance it... but I can't balance this table, for example, with my other tables, because it is maxed out.

I couldn't tell you what makes it lower on and and not others....   I think the word we're looking for is normalizing?

personally i have the same problem with watching TV to much whispering and overly loud music or explosions

so it's fight to adjust the volume the whole time....

same when trying to have a standard set volume in your cab... one table will be rockin' the house, next one is like a whisper

since its in the rom and each rom is manufactured by different companies I cant see how it can be remedied

unless VPM could have a normalizing filter, like audio editing software has in it....

my 2 cents

I have to figure something out somehow, thats for sure.

But just increasing the volume for all machines is bad, as then all users that set it to max or close to max will get audio clipping, something that was not present in the original machine for sure! (e.g. a no-go to add this)

On the other hand there must be some way to 'simulate' external amplifiers that differently increased the audio volume over the different manufacturers (data east, sega, stern, alving) and its different generations.

EDIT: @hauntfreaks: you cannot normalize without knowing the full stream in advance. but this is dynamically generated by the software during gameplay. you could have some dynamic normalization that adapts over time but this sucks IMHO as its not true to the original machines.

Hey toxie... I'm certainly not the smartest guy around, and I don't often understand the technical aspect of these problems, but if the audio was loud enough to get clipping, wouldn't the end user just turn it down a bit?

True. But we had (and partially still have) a similar issue with WPC machines. And we still get reports from time to time when users set the volume there to max (and get clipping).  :/

On another note: I did some more research, and i also actually found something in the code, so there could be some hope that i'll be able to increase the volume again.  :)

What about a new Option for VP Script ?
VP Sounds +/-
DMD Sounds +/-

actually not bad of an idea, but it will not solve the issue of some of the BSMT2000 machines having too low volume nowadays.

but i'll put it on my todo list, most of the functionality is already there, just some wirework missing.

I almost missed this great table because I thought it would need a 4k playfield to run. I am happy I tried it nevertheless :)

I didn't know this table at all, and did not expect such a nice gameplay.  It is really hard to stop playing it (just one more game). :-)

Oh and I very much like the sound of the light-relays (switches).

Thanks for sharing!

If I want to make the ball feel a bit heavier, should I slightly adjust the gravity setting maybe from 0,8 to 0,9 or 1, or is there any

other setting to use instead for that?

Speaking of sounds i recommend to filter, balance and normalize etc any audio, Adobe Audition CC, it saved some old recorded audios when i was a little child. Far far away in a distant galaxy XD

I actually went through the trouble of reading into the original BSMT2000 binary blob (aka firmware) today and comparing that to the mixing we had so far.

And after some fiddling, i think we now have a better emulation, which is also quite louder again.

Will post a new build soon, after more testing.
