So I guess I'm not crazy after all. The inlanes, flippers and slings of the VP table are not quite built in correct vertical proportion to the real table. This picture shows the real table on the left and VP table on the right. Notice the outlane artwork below it:

GenesisTable-Real&VP.jpg

Take note of the position on the left flipper in respect to where the ball exits the bumpers area. The ball should fall out of the bumpers area and come straight down to the left flipper edge, but instead it often veers towards the space between flippers, or to the right flipper with a lower table slope. Something is still off with the gravity behavior and the flippers need to come up some.

It might be off due too table dimensions, this looks like a VP9 conversion of JPs table witch if I remember correctly was built with the wrong dimensions back in the day. It's just a thought, I haven't had a chance to grab the table yet.. Have a look at the dimensions of the table and see if it's correct. If not then that may be the reason a few things are slightly off..

Ways to fix that are:
- re-building the table from scratch to the correct dimensions. In my opinion the easiest way to do it
- re-adjusting everything on the table that's already there to your new table dimensions. Supper tediousness and takes forever as every element will need to be adjusted, as I said it's really just easier to just start over..

But again I have yet to download the table so you might want to have a look and see if the table was converted to VPX with the correct table dimensions.. Have a look here to see if that's the case

Yes I believe this is a conversion. I'm still seeing wonky physics I thought would have been corrected from VP9 to VP 10 but apparently not. There's not enough vertical movement from ball returns, and the ball still rebounds off of surfaces like they are made of rubber when you increase the flipper strength. This one needs a VP10 reboot.

yeah hat was the firsting thing i looked at... its 952x1974 and going by the guide its correct... this is a standard system 80 (not wide or xwide?)

and it does ssem to be a VP9 port... could be wrong... graphically it has some useful parts, could use new plastics... i've only played the real deal once,( its where i got the alt BG image) so physics wise i couldn't tell ya, but it is sitting on the correct dimensions as for the table size goes... again if its a standard

on another note I cant seem to find any football themed tables... can someone help?

Here is a football themed table hauntfreaks.. :-) I think there is a nice playfield at another sight but the plastics never happened.. To me it looks like it has a lot of potential to be an all around fun table.

Try this flipper size, this is what I used on Raven. They are the same era and same size table.. It seemed to work out nice for Raven hope it helps.. :-)

I did correct the dimensions, but there may be a few objects that I didn't rescale correctly. That's why the bumper caps were too big in the first version - the bottom part of the caps were walls which scaled down automatically, but the top of the bumpers didn't, and I forgot to hand tweak the primitive scale. I'll take a look at the flippers.

zany made the flippers models and bumper cap models I used in Raven.

Feel free to use them if you would like, just credit zany for building them.. :-)

Really nice table by the way... :-) It was one of my favorite VP9 builds the theme and music is awesome you've def. done it justice with your VPX conversion..

I did that in VPx using the best plastics I could find at the time. I think someone is doing the plastics again and models.. not sure though.

We need Quarterback - it hasnt been done yet.

If you're going to do more work on this table, may I suggest also looking at friction and elasticity of playfield objects? You seem to currently have gravity and flipper strength much lower than other tables do, and I'm guessing this may be why.

Thx for the Update. Since i use 2 Screens, how can i disable the In-Game-DMD? I tried to change some values in the script, but it always shows up

I love your version of this table.  The way it looks and plays is so much fun.  I really hope you have something else in the pipeline ( a newer WIP of Space Station maybe?)  Back to pinballin'

Okay... I got a weird issue. I'm not getting any music or sound effects from this table. The only sound I get are the ball rolling and other mechanical sounds.

I checked the settings and everything seems to be at the proper place no volume is turned down or off.

It's a shame as this is a beautiful table and I'd love to play it, its just a bit too sparse of noise to hold my interest. I'm wondering if I can fix this sound issue.

I checked the script file... But, I don't seem to notice anything pertaining to music.

Never mind... I figured it out. I thought I closed the table and started it again... But, I didn't and when I did in fact launch the table after closing VPX again it worked fine. I think my issue was I forgot to initially drag the rom into the rom folder, and I tried to launch wihtout a rom. Then of course it errored out. Then I dragged the rom into the folder, and launched. And that error was what kept the sound from working.

Nice table !

I play in DT mode, and I'd like to use the "standard" DMD but I get a strange issue

I've tried to delete the nvram file, but it's all the same, any idea ?
