Christian. Been a long time since I played this table. Pretty sure though that I had sound. You see me often suggesting going to Universe for any roms. I suggest that this time too as Carny has done a tremendous job making sure that roms are in tip top shape over there.

Hi Outhere and ALL others,

 

now back at home I re-checked the status:

 

1. I play on both systems (lab & cab) with "stargat4" ROMS, with both PCs I have no ROM sounds.

2. Then I wanted to check the volume adjustments in the game settings, but was NOT able to find them. It is not like Williams Tables of this time with +/- as "8" or "9". I checked the adjustments and bookkeeping menues, but could not find any volume adjustment screen.

Since IPDB is not allowed to show the manuals for Gottlieb games the question here: who know hows the adjustment procedure for the ROM sounds?

It has a potentiometer to adjust the volume of the sounds,
adjust the volume with the tilde key method.

a gottlieb table that does not let you add credits more then likely means that you did not configure your rom

 

this needs to be updated to included all versions of the roms

it includes a version for

stargat1

stargat2

stargat3

stargat4

stargate

 

but it does not include stargate5.  So download it and make a copy of stargat1   and rename it to stargat5,  and your table will add credits.

Which "stargate" rom did you use? and did you rename it to stargat5? i cant get credits to work and neither nvram's i add in seem to fix? 

 

EDIT: Fixed it by going into script and changing line 32 Const cGameName="stargat4",UseSolenoids=2,UseLamps=0,UseGI=0, SCoin="coin"

 

from stargat5 to stargat4.

I have again trouble with this game and I don't know why. I have two identical (?) installation on same hardware in my lab-PC and my cab-PC. the same and at same place are

rom - stargate.zip

nvram - stargate.nv, stargat1.nv, stargat2.nv up to #4

skript - gts3.vbs

game and bg file are identical in the table folder

 

the date of the nvram says I played the game last time in 2020 on my cab.

 

On my lab-PC the game starts and plays correctly with sound.

 

When I try to start the table on the cab-PC it crashes with the message "invalid assignment "KeyInsertCoin1" in line 115

 

Where can I search in order to make the PCs identical -> and play Stargate on my cab again?

Try commenting out Lines 115 through 118 in table script. (These coin slot keys are defined in the VBS script file in your scripts folder anyways.)
