I think it would be less work to just build you a VP cabinet…

I just started looking into the B2S active backglass today as I finally had the time to install. I love this feature! But, I'm having difficulties.

I loaded a few tables but for some reason I can't get the moving images to land in the proper places on the backglass. For Abra Ca Dabra, my backglass appears almost cut in half and the 'score' only shows the first couple digits (224), which are offset from where they belong.

I just spent a couple hours messing with this and a few other tables (Line Drive, Bad Cats, etc.). They are all off for me.

Besides the misalignment, the 'moving images' all appear to be a little bit larger than the back glass image.

Should I only need one ScreenRes file and only one B2S.vbs file in the system?

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I would bet your problem is the screenres.txt
Read the How to install AbraCaDabra_FS_B2S.txt and enter the screen resolution of your 2 monitors in the file.

For example.
I have 2 screens. One is 1680x1050, the other is 1280x1024. I want the backglass to show on screen 2.

Here is my screenres.txt
1680
1050
1280
1024
2

Yes, you should only have one screenres file and one B2S.vbs file (make sure you have the latest).

Thanks for the replies.

I've got a 3 screen setup;

1 - Playfield
2 - Backglass
3 - DMD

At the moment, I've got the following resolutions set:

1 - 1920 by 1080
2 - 1920 by 1200
3 - 1024 by 768

I've got the screenres.txt as:

1920
1080
1920
1200
2
0
0

My current b2s.vbs file is dated as 9/27/2011, but I've also tried with a b2s.vbs dated 5/14/11. Is this correct?

I've got FPLaunch.EXE dated as 8/29/09, but I've also tried with an FPLaunch.ahk dated 4/08/09

I've got FPLaunch.AHK dated as 8/29/09, but I've also tried with an FPLaunch.ahk dated 4/08/09

I still see the same results. The backglass does appear full (I mistyped previously), but the scores, etc. are misaligned.

I did notice that a few of the instructions, included in some tables, said to place the FPlaunch.exe into the Hyperpin folder, yet the files ZIP included FPLaunch.AHK, not FPLaunch.EXE. That's a bit confusing.

Is there an install guide, of link out here that would be move in depth than just the files that are included in tables?

Is there something that would change the size of what I call the 'moving image' (the images that move on the backglass)?

Thanks again for the help...

ok, start over. Forget Hyperpin for the moment and get the B2S screens working in Vpinball.
Then, when everything is working you can add the entries for Hyperpin.

1) Create a folder, name it AbraCaDabra 2.0
Put only these 5 files in the folder:
AbraCaDabra_FS_B2S.exe
AbraCaDabra_FS_B2S.vpt
b2s.vbs (I am using the 5/14/2011 vbs, thought I don't think it matters)
How to install AbraCaDabra_FS_B2S.txt
ScreenRes.txt

2) Double click on AbraCaDabra_FS_B2S.exe in the AbraCaDabra 2.0 folder.
(this will launch the backglass ONLY and if it works go to step 3, otherwise, fix the problem with the screenres.txt)

3) ok, the backglass works now, so run vpinball and see if the table works in full screen and the backglass is where you want it

4) put the entries in your visual pinball.xml for hyperpin to load this table on the menu

Go to, Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display, and make sure the Windows items size is set to 100% (default).

This was my issue. Thanks rosve!! I looked into that at one point, but dismissed it before changing. sad.gif

For anyone with the same issue, here are my steps to change in WinXP:

1. 'Control Panel'
2. 'Displays'
3. 'Settings' tab
4. Click 'Advanced' button
5. On 'General' tab
6. Set 'DPI setting:' to "Normal Size (96 DPI)

I do have another question or two and I hope it's okay to put them here...

I've seen terms such as 'Active Backglass', 'Animated Backglass', UVP' and B2S'. Can someone explain which is which, or are they all the same? When searching for solutions to problems, I want to know that I'm barking up the right tree.

So, now I'm seeing scores and images aligned on the backglass when loading directly in VP (very sweet, I must say!).

I then added the proper line to my Setting.ini file, with all tables scripts set to 'false'. Now, when I run Hyperpin and fire up a table, the backglass image is started, but the image is off. It's split between Monitor 1 and monitor 2. I guess I'll have to work on the screenres file and the Display setting again....??

I'm having trouble getting the UVP to work with this table. I had to insert some lines to get it to show up, but now I can't get the numbers to display. I cannot find anything in the script to change other than to disable the B2S option. Anyone have any ideas or have a working UVP for this table? TIA

it's an EM, so there's no ROM and therefore no way of doing a UVP. The B2S is the only 2 screen solution for this table.
