Rav,

are you planning to test the new PS4 cam when it's out?

Cheers!

No.

PS4 cam is conected to PS4 with own special interface (not USB).

Right now there is on way to connect it to PC.

i like cam specs, but we have to wait until someone find how to connect it to PC.

Same with Kinect 2.

BAM update.

- last, "debug" artifacs in BAM menu removed (... or not last :) )

- added rotation (180 deg.) of cams in "HT w/PS3Eyes" plugin (updated /BAM/plugins/HT-PS3Eyes.dll)
(reqest of The Loafer)

- added quick editor window hide if in command line args is /play arg. Window only "blink".
You don't have to change anything in frontends.  (updated /BAM/bam.dll)
(requet of via mail)

- added 2 command line args:
1. /forcephysic "c:\path to file\physic file.zip"
(or .xml)

2. /forcephysic_fs
will open fileselector to choose physic file (zip or xml)
(updated /BAM/FPLoader.exe)

(jasonsmith01 ask for GUI to select physic file, but i'm too lazy to create another gui)

Pinball Arcade is commercial product, actively developed. I will not mess with Farsight and their lawyers ;).

Or, offer FarSight a proposal and join the Team as a Consultant to implement your BAM product?

Question for Rav:

Is it possible to implement a feature where when the BAM Menu is active, the plunger key is inactive.

For me, anytime i go into the BAM to set up something, i inadvertently launch the ball..sometimes i like to modify things i see need changing while i am in game play, so i pop into the menu quickly for a small adjustment. this is on my cab btw. Have lost a few balls doing this :)

Cheers,

Maceman

Edit your bam.cfg file and change the key assignment to something other than Enter :)

Edit: Or now that I think about your comment - it would be nice if the Enter key was temporarily disabled while the BAM menu was open. That would be a nice feature.

It works for me, so try to solve problem step by step.

... but first do backup of BAM folder (to keep all cfg files for tables and plugins).

1. remove HT-PS3Eyes.dat from  plugins folder (or "Simple PS3Eye.dat" if You have problems with "Simple PS3Eye" plugin)

2. replace plugin with version from old release.

3. replace BAM.dll with older version

4. start from begin:

 - move BAM folder to backup dir

 - unpack last release to get all new files without without all config files for tables and plugins

Ok.

Are You trying to use "HT w/PS3Eyes" plugin (IR-led tracking) or "Simple PS3Eye" (one PS3Eye cam)?

Did it work before You did update?

Any way... "HT w/PS3Eyes" plugin will not apear in BAM menu when it fails to load cam drivers. So try to uninstall CL-Eye-Platform-SDK and CL-Eye-Drivers and install it again.

I use this glasse. They are cheap ... <$1 ?

On TV with good colors feel of 3D is quite good,

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

BAM update.

1. New place to put physic xml. Inside VBS script.
You can now add full XML fill at end of VBS script and add for every line comment character (' - apostophe).
so at end of VBS script it will be:
'<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
'<document>
'  <!-- Physics processing -->
'  <!-- Note. Changing the FPS will effect how how all the other values interact with each other and should
.......
'  <plungerMat softnessCoef="0.04" elasticCoef="0.4" staticFriction="0.01" kineticFriction="0.02"></plungerMat>
'  <spindiskMat softnessCoef="0.05" elasticCoef="0.5" staticFriction="2.0" kineticFriction="2.0"></spindiskMat>
'
'</document>

If physics XML is put inside VBS script it will be alway used. (it has highest priority).

2. Fixed menu position when screen res is 16:9 (for example 1920x1080 monitor in landscape).

3. Two new plugins for desktop users: Desktop Cam and Desktop PS3Eye.
This two plugins will not be usefill on cabs.
They are created to use face detection head tracking on laptops, desktops or with TV, where screen is in landscape in front of user and cam is used to trace player position.
For this two plugins all valid options are gathered on one screen.
Thay are designed to set correct FOV for better Stero3D mode experience and to make head tracking more realistic.
"Desktop PS3Eye" need same installation as "Simple PS3Eye".

How to use it.
Start FP in arcade mode.

Select "Desktop Cam" if You use web cam or "Desktop PS3Eye" if You have PS3Eye toy.

When set options in menu:
Line 1. TV size - set size of Your monitor/TV
Line 2. Units - select [cm] or [inch]
Line 3. Player distance - set how far from screen surface is Your head
Line 4. Press "Set default"

Now set table positition:
Line 6. Forward / Backward - You can move table to player or move it inside screen
Line 7. Up / Down - ...
Line 8. Scale - You can make table "bigger" (i set it = 2.0)
Line 9. Rotation Angle - (i set it = ~50 - 60 deg)
Now table will look like in "non arcade" mode.

Now basic head tracking options:
Line 11. Computer speed - [off/slow/medium/fast] - here You can disable head tracking or select more or less precise  tracking params
Line 12. Move Scale - here You can set level of response to head move

At end of menu is submenu [more options] - here You have access to same option like for normal plugins.

Notice. Head tracking with "Desktop plugins" is not soo cool like on cabs.

hi

Can You give more details?

BAM need CPU time only:

- for face detection (plugins: "Simple Cam/PS3Eye/Kinect").

- new renderer

- PostFX pluign

- postprocessing to change picture saturation/gamm/brightness

All that options are disabled by default.

I can make long list to check options. It will be faster if You send to me ([email protected]) BAM config files: "Reality.dat", "stereoCalibrationData.cfg", "bam.cfg" and one table.cfg file from BAM/cfg dir.

Info about Your computer hardware and FP config (screenshot of "Video/Rendering Options") can also help.

Do You use Zedeonius FP version with custom opengl32.dll in FP dir?
