So something's been bothering me about UltraDMD for a while now, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.  It seems the pauseTime parameter for DisplayScene goes by much faster than it should on my cabinet PC, but works fine on my desktop PC.  This is apparent with the new Stranger Things table that has an intro video that is supposed to play for 50 seconds, but it gets cut off around 30 seconds.  Has anyone seen this before or have an idea why it would be happening?

I'm making my first table using UltraDMD and I noticed the same, that the video played only half and the sound continued until the end. The reason was that my computer screen was running at 120hz. So I changed that to 60hz and then the video played fine. Maybe the same happens to you.

Yes I run at 120hz on my cab, interesting.  I wonder if there is a way to deal with that in the script?  I think I saw one table that had a multiplier that could easily be changed in one spot.

Is there still active development on UltraDMD?  Maybe the issue can be addressed there instead of trying to hack around it, or at least provide a configuration option that could be used for those running with different frame rates.

If you play one table with UltraDMD. At least for me, the process will not die on exit of table and needs to be killed.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Hi,

After struggling for hours not being able to get UltraDMD working, here is what I did:

Uninstalled, cleaned registry

Installed to default location c:\program Files

ran sample table that is an optional download.  (This was the critical step I was missing)

Set up my exit script in pinball X to also force quit ultradmd.exe after playing a table by adding:  taskkill /f /im UltraDMD.exe

Hope it helps folks

Posted this in the 10.3 beta thread, but may be more appropriate here:-

Has anyone managed to solve the frame rate problems when using UltraDMD and adaptive Vsync (Option 2).

This was a post I made in JP's Ghostbusters, but have noticed the same issue which quite a few UltraDMD games. The video show's the problem as JP added UltraDMD to v1.2.1

"I was using the beta of 10.21, but am now running 10.21 final. I have updated all the scripts that came with 10.21final, but am still getting this issue. Not sure what has changed between v1.2.0 and v1.2.1 that is causing the issue? DOF or UltraDMD script changes? (I don't use DOF) I am getting the same issue with the latest version of a couple of JP's other tables (Mortal Kombat 2 etc) I am just running the slightly older version on my cab for the time being, but there is something in the latest versions causing a problem that wasn't there before.

I figured a video of the issue would make it much clearer to see what I am talking about. I don't have an issue with any other tables on my set-up. The video shows both versions running with exactly the same settings. v1.2.0 rock solid 60fps, v1.2.1 fps jumping up and down.

I posted this on the JP Ghostbuster thread on VPF, but thought someone hear may know the answer. V1.2.0 of JP tables run perfectly, but there is an issue with v1.2.1 Not sure what has changed between v1.2.0 and v1.2.1 that is causing the issue? DOF or UltraDMD script changes? (I don't use DOF) Using adaptive Vsync (Option 2) v1.2.0 is rock solid 60fps, v1.2.1 fps jumping up and down. Hope this helps solve the problem."

I checked the CPU usage and with v1.2.1 it is maxing out (100%). With v1.2.0 cpu usage is fine. Gameplay with v1.2.1 is choppy even without vsync.

I'm struggling with install still as well.

Can you point me towards that Exit script you're talking about? Thanks!

Or you can use the All-In-One Installer which installs the Ultra-DMD program for you.

When installing with the latest version (upgrading from 1.13 or something old), ultradmd.exe crashes and installation fails, unable to get beyond this

Nevermind that, the all-in-one installer worked.

I have mp4s now, and if I play an mp4 I can't then play a wmv - is there a way around this? I'll likely end up using all mp4s going forward but hate to have to convert everything I have already

edit: ahhh crap it just doesn't seem to like mp4s much at all...

I can play an mp4 in one sub, and an mp4 in another sub, or i can play an mp4 and an avi in one sub, or two avis in one sub, but not an mp4 and and mp4 in the same sub

I'm not sure, but maybe you'll have better luck asking this over at https://www.gameex.i...isplay-library/ ?

Tom seems to have a finger in the code now ? I know lucky1 also have dabbled a bit with it - at least he compiled new versions of xdmd and xdmdnative dll to support dmddevice.
