Yeah. Just been reading up on all the threads and catching up. Looks to be what you say with conflicting scripts.
Is now after 7am and need sleep.

Well, ball rolling to fast over kickback happens in real pins as well - so I don't count that as an error.

Thank you for your feedback. Not that big of a problem, tough - it has a tendency to end up on the left flipper.

DedRok_V : I suggest - make a copy of you installation - after that use the all-in-one installer. And like Joey said - no *.vbs scripts in tables folder. The reason is that these are loaded before the updated ones in scripts folder and if the tables use functions that the files in your table folder doesn't understand, you'll get these kind of errors.

Always smart to make a backup - a simple usb stick should be more than enough, if you don't have room, buy a bigger usb stick/harddrive or if you don't have either, make a folder c:\backup and paste everything there.

I recommend people to search google for synctoy, a small free tool from microsoft that if you enable it with echo mode is very nice to make incremental backups with. First time it copies everything you ask it to, after it just copies changes.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Was playing myself at midnight :-) I don't remember what other table I played some months back when suddenly the Midnight Madness hit. I was so surprised because I wasn't aware of this feature. Believe it was TOM (?). Once you've played it once on a table it is really just something that is in your way. i can understand Toxy that got his game ruined by it.

My midnight round was a rather bad round so I decided to continue just out of curiosity. Tomorrow however, there is a mark in my calendar. It sais, 1) Buy alot of beers. 2) Hunt the German !

According to pinside.com these are the only games known that have Midnight Madness:

- Congo

- Dirty Harry

- Johnny Mnemonic

- Junk Yard

- NBA Fastbreak

- Who Dunnit

Theatre of Magic has a Midnight Madness, but it is a normal mode rather than a special mode.

Yeah I have scripts in all table folders as well as scripts folder as some games tend to not work otherwise.
So need to update to scripts folder too.

I have a 64g USB stick in the machine,
500g hdd in the sys
1t ext hdd with backups
Another 1t ext hdd with backups

Not backing up til I get the updating sorted , then will take an img.

Have to work out the colour roms and work out the config so that my old Stern games get the sound back. Install of Sam broke the whitestar sys.

Now am sort of awake, will have another look.

I'll keep at it.
Been away too long and too much has changed. Lots more reading on the phone to do.

Just had a couple games of Gorgar. Plays close to how it should.
Hole kickout should go to flipper not top off sling post. Flippers seem too much friction and should roll more.
Could also be my system slight lag tho.

Need to get vpm update as Congo needs and is too dark, but plays.
Still have 2.7 not 2.8.

Here's a quick couple games for Gorgar. Can see me on this today.

And Congo working but daaarrrk.

"Yeah I have scripts in all table folders as well as scripts folder as some games tend to not work otherwise.
So need to update to scripts folder too."

I would remove all scripts from any folders besides the scripts folder.

Then when you find a table that has an error saying it needs vbs file in same folder, there is a simple script fix to remedy this situation.

Look for this in table script..

ExecuteGlobal CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").OpenTextFile(VBSfile, 1).ReadAll

And change it to..

ExecuteGlobal GetTextFile(VBSfile)

That's it!!

Simply save changes and now the table no longer needs the vbs file in same folder as table.

For a list of the tables that are VBS dependent, (require the .vbs in same folder as table.)

Thanks That's awesome.

I had done the script folder option once before after reading the jp thread but still got a lot of issues.

Have cleaned all scripts from folders except vpx folder and scripts folder. Working so far and just loading checking vpx.

I need a full cleanout of tables too, but not today.

I just test a game with Congo under VP9 and it's so boring, because sooooo easy. :tapping:

I stop it at 11,5 Billion after the first two balls. You can shoot the right ramp again and again and again.......

It must be nearly 150 rounds.

And the ball goes very rare through the left kickball. So I think, that's no challenge and I'll stay at the VPX-version.

This is much harder and more elastic. :db:

A version with physics between VPX and VP9 are optimal.

Please Joey - can't you stay playing VP9 - for the rest of the weekend ? That surely would make me happy .... LOL

Nah - ofc - this is some beers talking and teasing among friends. I love to see new competitors on the scene just recently. I believe I'm suddenly around 5th or something. Close race around the 2mill mark. Thanks you ta2686 for correcting me - once I saw your post - it was - dang ... Midnight Magic happened for me first on Junk Yard not Theatre of Magic.

Great score davepinball ! Ben Logan - I believe I have you by maybe 40 thousand or so - so c'mon :-) <3 ... psst - we're behind dave - we can't be happy about that can we ?

Uh .... might have bought too many beers after a rather stressful week - so, I believe I have to focus on trying to get up early tomorrow instead of kicking your asses tonight.

And - xenonph - very nice info. I learned something new today, great post - thank you.

:-)

well, clyde - your playing the requested version on requested settings. To me you're way ahead of the next guy. Joey is someone I believe I can beat - still ( until he takes up his hidden pic for a super-score ). I would be very pleased if I manage to beat Joeys current score to be honest. Struggling mostly with out-lane drains, the flipper issue might come to haunt me. But, hasn't really yet.

I don't believe, that I can get a higher score tomorrow. ;-)
I'll take a little pause...

Only 900 Millions on the VPX version after 20 played games.

The old VP9 version was so easy, my score 8Bill.

The slingshots are fast and the vulcanramp is horror. I think, I need more steaks to climb the vulcan.

Good luck guys
