Oh guys, i played this and the reduced version,
but the multball's is a real jerking nightmare(sorry, but this makes no fun).
If the Multiball begins and i shot the ball in the Jackpot chest, all the flasher are in action and the ball stutters. At the big final Scared Stiff Multiball, the balls stutters so much that i can't play.
My Specs are a 3,6 GHz Intel Dual Core CPU with 4GB Ram and a NVidia GTX 285 Grafics with 1GB RAM.
Never see this performance dropping before, not with a other Visual Pinball table and not with a Future Pinball table.
What for a super high performance PC are needed for a good play?

I think the sound going bad is a memory issue, it's a very demanding table. Try the lower spec one that JP has posted.
We used a lot of high resolution images based on 1600 x 1200 for this table so it would look great on high-spec machines. JP is on holiday now but when he gets back I'll mention to him that the lower spec version could be set to no fading lights and also lower resolution images.

I had the same slowdown and jerky play only during multiball.
Then I tried lowering the resolution from 1600*1200 32bit to 1280*1024 16bit that solved the problem for me.
so try lowing the resolution that could help out some.
My dinosaur computers spec:
Pentuim IV single core 3.0Ghz
1G of ram
Nvidia 256MB 6800 GT

Some slowdowns during heavy multiball sessions for me with QX9650 3.8 Ghz and 9800GTX 512MB @ 1920x1080, but I expected that. Keep making tables this beautiful and high res, such a joy to play. I'm gonna buy a new GPU soon anyhow. Fantastic!

I see you play at 1920x1080. That is a wide screen format. You might want to try 1600x1200. Thats 4:3 so your table will not be stretched. You might not have as many slow downs with this res. Just my opinion

I am such a newbie. How do I see if a table is meant for 16:9 or 4:3? I am playing on a 1920x1080 LCD, what would be the optimal resolution for me? Thanks for pointing that out. Sorry for a bit OT.

This table pushes VP to its max on my system. I had the problem with the sound breaking up about a minute into the game, and bad performance during multi ball. I have no serious performance issues with any other vp table.
This forced me to re-evaluate my vp video settings in order to increase performance. Vic Viper mentioned earlier in this thread that lowering the video resolution fixed the problem for him. Keg made mention of running at a true 4:3 resolution to keep the video card from having to stretch the graphics.
I took this information, and looked at the chart on this page:
http://en.wikipedia....mon_resolutions
I determined that the highest 'true 4:3' resolution supported by vp on my system is 1280 x 960. I set vp to run at that resolution and this table is now running great w/o slowdown or sound issues. This may be obvious information to some, but I have been playing vp for awhile and never took this into account. My cpu is getting old, so every bit of performance counts.
System specs:
Cpu: p4 3.04ghz
Ram: 1.5 gb
Vid: Nvidia 9800 gt 1gb

First off let me say that I love, love, love this table!
No real graphics or sound issues with it even running at 1920 x 1080, 32 bit. But I do have one small problem that I have been unable to solve even after trying lower resolutions. I cannot get either flipper or the plunger to show up. Small detail, I know. It is definitely more challenging with the invisible flippers and all but I would really like to have a go at it with everything visible. I am not nearly good enough to deserve a handicap quite that high!
System specs are:
CPU: i7 920 @ 2.67 Ghz
RAM: 3GB DDR3
Dual NVidia 9800 GT w/1GB and SLI enabled
Win Vista 64-bit
Thanks for the wonderful table. Too much fun!

I managed to get a ball stuck under the bony beast ramp somehow. The table did 2 ball checks, then ejected a ball from the coffin lock. When that ball drained, the table again did 2 ball checks trying to locate the missing ball before sending another ball from the coffin lock. I have been playing this beauty quite a lot, in approx. 3 hrs of play I had this happen once. Just wanted to let you guys know it happens. BTW - again, amazing job on the table, the flippers and physics are just right, playability is through the roof and it looks great to boot (even the reduced version). The spider is great too - the animation makes the spider game work well. In summary, after many hours of play, two sore flipper index fingers up. The shift keys are starting to go on my keyboard because of all of these great vp/fp table releases.

Saturday I'll take a trip to Rome, just one week, and I'll take note of all the bugs reports and I'll make a revision when I come back.
I'll make some changes to the 3 versions of the table, making the reduced version faster and fixing the small bugs that have been reported.
To the FS version I'll add the spider just like in the regular version, so people with just one screen still may see the spider rotating if they want. I guess it will still be done using the up cursor key.
About the slow downs: I think it has to do with windows and the drivers. I know it is very graphic intensive when all the lights goes "bananas", but why it works better in my portable with just 256Mb video memory than with my dual pentium with 4Gb and 1Gb video memory? It is not logical. Oh, and the portable I have installed Windows 7! And it works faster even if the cpu is slower, there is less memory and the video card is also weaker and it has less memory than the desktop pc. I'm sure it has to do with the video card drivers.
About the flippers not showing. I have seen that if I turn off HR, I guess it is because the reels on top of the flippers aren't real transparent anymore. So move the two "bony" reels out of the screen and see if the flippers are visible again.

and still no answer for the "Could Not Create offscreen surface" problem. Never had that show up on a table in the last 7 years.
It means you're out of video memory. Reduce the resolution or, possibly, switch to 16-bit depth on your current res and run it again.
Search 'offscreen' in the forum search, and you'll find many mentions of this.

Maybe that is because the tables that are being created now are more detailed and graphics intensive than at any time in the last 7 years. The software has progressed and now the hardware must too.

Oh my JP and HighRise, what a beauty!! Playability is very good (a bit easy I think, I made 61m on my first game), and it looks TERRIFIC. I love the lights and flashers reflecting everywhere.
I also have the stuttering after a minute, and the jerky multiballs on my Athlon 425 X3, GF8600GT. I'll try lowering the resolution as suggested by others.
Keep it up guys... it is great to see the quality improvements on each new release.
Edit: Lowered the resolution from 1680x1050 to 1280x960 and it stutters the same (sound + choppiness on multiball)

I don't think its that easy, Now the crate multiball is pretty easy to make shots I agree w/ you their
I manage to get the highest score 1st place 15,147,640. I still haven''t beat the default grand champion score of 20,000,000.
After making so many jackpots w/ that crate multiball I was thinking I had well over 100,000,000, but I guess that the score inflation isn't abused as much like The Addams Family.
