You guys don't take it so seriously but sharing these links in public will ruin this community someday. First a public link to Ghostbusters, now the Beatles. Even a torrent link with all roms.

Your asses should be banned here.

YOU: "Don't take it so seriously guize"

ALSO YOU: "YOURE SHARING ALL THE THINGS YOURE RUINING IT ALL YOUR ASSES SHOULD BE BANNED"

Calm down, dude. We're working on an original port of the Beatles table. We're not sharing illegal roms, we're not sharing banned tables, we're not doing anything wrong.

Maybe leave this thread and not come back until you can help...?

I remember the GB VPX table. I still have it. Works great. It's easy to find, too. I really wish Stern hadn't C&D'ed it. That company constantly shoots itself in the foot.

I've purchased many Stern pinball tables (among others) because of this hobby.  I frequently visit PB Parlors and drop cash into the machines (always do the 2$ for 3 plays, baby)...because of this hobby.  I will continue to dump $$ into real Pinball....wait for it...

If it wasn't for VPX, I wouldn't have ever looked for TOTAN, Black Hole, or AC/DC in real life or attempted to play or own them.

Right on dudes, so glad to hear all that, and myself, played real pinball in college 90's then dropped off when the industry slumped. Back in now by route of  VPX and my VP cabinet. I was hitting 3 pinball festivals a year just before Covid shut all that down in California. Can't wait to get back to real pinball now that I have had the chance to learn a lot of the official table rules via VPX and practice the heck out of the top 20 tables.

I'm a California boy, too. I hear what you're saying. I miss going to Campbell and Downtown San Jose to play some pinball. Ugh...hopefully, the vaccines will begin to help and we will get back on our feet.

And...to top it off...we know massively more game routines than the average pinballer.  I have 200ish? well manicured tables and really try to play at least half of those regularly.  Their game-style, tactics, scoring and even nuisances are researched.  I can walk into many parlors and play a solid amount of games without needing to look at the instruction card.  This hobby does wonders for our inventory of ROM knowledge. Let's not forget we keep tables like KK alive!  How many real pinballers can say they've played KK?  (Thanks, @Cyberpez)

Got this running in desktop, no Pup stuff, added 15 classic songs to script. Awesome table!     thebeatles3.jpg

Awesome man, good luck with it. I was going to mention but you may have had it sorted, but the Seawitch layout that went on to be the Beatles table (in vpx) is not the same layout. I think from memory the flippers and the loop are slightly modified in the real version to allow that loop shot more. The vpx version didn't get adjusted to suit, which it should. Assume you got hold of the high res playfield?

Remember that I made two Seawitch tables, one called  "Seawitch" and another called "JP's Seawitch", this one have the Stern layout, where loops are easily done by both right flippers, as many objects are in different places.

I'm working on the PUP Pack for this at the moment using Stern resources.

I've also got the rare table that nobody could find and modded the physics and the flippers. I may just rebuild the table altogether but wanted to see how it played first.

Should I continue working on this or should I just make it as a private project and keep it that way, considering Stern's finnicky?

It's just that I've seen Munsters and Guardians and figured they were floating by somehow. :)

Please let me know. I'm gonna continue working on it, regardless.

Coincidentally and to my surpirse I found a version with modes on orbitalpin.com
Is this the version you have done or is it another one?

Quick update on where I am at:

Yes, I am working from the "007" version of ScottyWic's Beatles table. The table already has some of the modes programmed (but needs work).

  • I have changed the table audio to match the audio you hear on the Stern table:
    • The bumpers now have a ding with women screaming,
    • the drop targets now have a bass drum sound,
    • the slingshots have cymbal sounds when they're hit,
    • The spinners now have that sweet jingling sound from the real table
    • The flippers sound like the Stern table
  • I have added the following vids:
    • I have programmed the first ball to play the cool Ed Sullivan intro vid ("Ladies and gentleman...THE BEATLES!") which segues into the cool Stern Beatles graphic.
    • The ball saved video each time the ball is saved

I have also created two different backglasses (one for Desktop Mode and one for 2 and 3 screen setups) as well as several different layouts which, in hindsight, might have been about 51 too many. I can upload a few and see what everyone thinks.

Suffice to say that I have zero idea what I am doing when it comes to coding and can vaguely figure out how to make the PUP stuff work. I need help with this stuff and don't know who to turn to. This Stern isn't as deep as say, Batman 66, so I cannot imagine there would be much coding except maybe making Pup stuff work correctly. The problem is that everyone seems to have their own idea of how to code Pup so I have all these coding conflicts, I don't even know where to begin.

Working with Scotty's code is fine but it's too simplistic since he uses the DMD and backglass all on one big screen and Beatles needs several screens for several moving parts.

Anyhow, I attached some images so people can see what I am doing.

I really think this table is doable and can be finished and be great but I just need some help is all.

Any input is welcome.

I own a Beatles Platinum if you need any input.

Really liking what I'm seeing.  I'd LOVE to see this table get a makeover of sorts.
