Hi Guys,

Last night I was able to get the backglass and DMD working properly.

Using 32assasin's suggestion - making a folder the same name as the table, putting the table and new backglass and a new screeenres.txt file with the proper DMD positions on it - it worked.

The only additional thing I had to do was open the backglass in B2S Editor and set the Grill Height to the very bottom of the backglass - and re-save it.

For some odd reason - with the unedited / unmodified version - when the grill height is set to above the grill - the screenres.txt has no effect whatsoever and won't let you move the DMD. But when the grill height is set to the bottom - the screenres.txt file makes a difference and you can set the position of the DMD and the size of the DMD to fit into the space between the speakers.

OK, with this procedure the relocation of the DMD to the third screen works, but forgive my ignorance, if I put the table, the b2s and the screeenres.txt in a separate folder even if it has the same table name, as I do so that the find the front end pinballx.

@Outthere

you can make a 2 screen version  the only problem is that you are probably going to end up with a 100 MB plus dB2s file

export all the DMD images from the table

resize them to fit the DMD area of the grill

Delete all the animated snippits from the DMD section

Import all the resized DMD images to the backglass section  as an Animated Snippits

I resized the Game Over image to 1024 pixels and it was still to small;  my backglass image is 2560 pixels wide.

Attached File  Capture.PNG   805.2KB   3 downloads

I tried this but I resized the images to 128x32  to see if I  could get the DMD to work on a  RGB panel based DMD

the video works but the numbers are scrambled and I have no way of testing this so ,  I stopped working on the project.

PinballX will find the table if the table and folder it is in are exactly the same name (minus the .vpx in the folder name.) I had the same concern as well but PinballX still was able to locate it inside the folder because the folder was the same name.

Thanks for the reply.
Confirmed, we manually add the new game to the database with game manager and pinballX executes the table when we select it.

I just made a new folder with the game name and put screen res inside and it worked for me. I did not put the table or backglass in the folder.

OK, guys, I've read all this topic, but can't manage to have this DMD working properly on my set-up... (I know, I'm a noob)

I've got 3 screens:

PF (3840x2160)

BG (1920x1080)

TOPPER (1280x1024).

My topper is placed on the top of my BG, so I don't use it as a DMD: 99% of the time, I place my DMD on my BG screen.

To place the DMD where I want, I've understood I must create a "Scarface" folder (if my table's name is just "Scarface") in my Tables folder, with just a ScreenRes.txt in it, but I can't figure out what values I must use in this ScreenRes.txt file to have the DMD centered on the BG with correct size...

I suppose:

3840

2160

1920

1080

and after that ?

To use a 3 screen backGlass on a 2 screen set up
Right click the back glass and under grill select visible When you Normally don't have the grill showing
There are some 3 screen backglasses that do not include the grill
Then you would need the Backglass Designer to add a grill to the image plus image software - https://www.vpforums...=40927&p=414013

Make a Separate ScreenRes.txt,  then you can put the DMD anywhere you want
All the info you need is in here -- https://www.vpforums...e=7#entry346276

I solved the problem  for my  config (2 screens and a real dmd)

1) import directb2s file in B2S Designer

2) Switch to DMD Imager (Menu Windows)

3) Image/resize, in my case i choose 1376*350. My backglass screen size is 2560*1600

4) Switch to backglass image

5) Image /Set DMD position (move it withmouse to black zone between speakers

6) Image / Set height position (the lower you can, 9 pixels for me

7) Backglass/Create direct B2S file

8) Replace your original directb2s file by the one located in B2SDesigner/Project folder
