Press the F6 key and turn on the sw4, and then press Ok,
press key 7 to navigate through the various tests,
with key 1 (credit) you can modify the parameters of the settings.
It is necessary to reset the test accounting parameters 6,7,8 and 9,
hold down the credit key (1) for a couple of seconds, until the displays indicate 0,
to be done even if the display already shows 0.
Then make the desired changes such as changing the number of balls per game, etc.
When done, go back to test 0, where you hear the annoying sound, and turn off the sw4 switch.
Very same issue, no advice from above helps.
Any other hint highly welcome.
Are you sure you didn't skip this step?

What do you want to change?
To anyone still having trouble, the explanation by Kiwi is slightly incomplete. Setting these settings is only something that needs to be done if the battery runs out of juice in the real table, and my dad used to do these things, so I had to do some reading.
The instruction manual for Farfalla says to clear the accounting parameters 6,7,8 and 9 (the way Kiwi explained) after every battery change (or first time use). But after that you MUST alter the value of every single setting (Zaccaria calls them "Tests" so I will too from here on out). You only have to do this one time.
How to do this (a simple guide):
- While in attract mode, press F6 and check DIP 4. An annoying sound will play.
- Use keyboard keys 7 and 8 (by default 7 is next test, 8 is previous test) to navigate through the tests.
- Go to test 6 (the test you're in shows up to the right of the GameTime Bonus on the backglass).
- Once in test 6, hold the number key 1 (the button that normally starts a game) for a couple of seconds. If you've played the table before you'll then see the different numbers in the score screens change to zero.
- Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 for test 7, 8 and 9.
- After you've done that, I suggest grabbing the Farfalla manual from pinrepair on a different device (because when I alt-tabbed, it didn't let me change the settings anymore) to see what all the tests do (you'll need page 24 to 28)
- Starting with test 10, set all of the preferred values for the tests using number key 1. (THIS BIT IS VERY IMPORTANT! If you want the value for a test to be 0, you MUST press the 1 key until the number 0 reappears, only then should you go to the next test). Don't worry about setting test 18 or 37 as they are not used by Farfalla.
- After pressing the 7 key at test 37, the annoying sound will return. At this point press F6 and uncheck DIP 4. You can now start a game with your favorite settings.
- If you want to change a test again later, you do not have to clear the accounting parameters again or change the value of every single test. That is a one time thing. Simply change the value of the test you want to change, then go back to test 0 with the annoying sound, and uncheck DIP 4 in the F6 menu. It will be saved.
I hope this helps someone.
