From a physics perspective
VP9 is better, from a graphics perspective
VP9 is also better so IMO overall
VP9 is better. I however like
VP8 as well and with Front-ends like
VP-Man you can enjoy both without any hassle at all. So for me it's ridiculous for someone to say(as a player) that I'll stick to one version over the other, especially when you can tell the
VP-Man front-end what version of
VP to launch when a game is selected.

One folder for
VP8 tables, another one for Vp9 tables, together with all the other pinball folders.
Tee .exe files renamed Vp8 &
VP9.
Using Vp-man, it´s little work to set the individual table setting correctly, but then it´s just pure fun!
