Great looking table U.W. very cool to get some older classics in VP9 lately. I also felt the flippers needed a slight adjustment for smoother transition, and had many balls drain off that right sling. I would implement some brighter graphics if you release them, but understand the dark philosophy that ties to real arcades. Oh, and nice sim of that upper magnet.

First--this is a great looking and playing table. However, I don't recall the original playing so quickly--can anyone confirm? Should/could the slope be lessened, and if so, how is this done? I used to own one about 15 years ago, and it (and other tables in this era, for that matter) did not have so quick of a ball movement and flipper strength (although this could be due to worn out machines). If doing a comparison to the Desangel version, which is also done very well, ball movement seems to be faster on yours, where Desangel's seems to be more accurate. I am not downplaying your table, but just offering an opinion/suggestion, if you're shooting for the most accurate characteristics...

First of all thank you very much for this table.

Much appreciated.

My playfield looks like this:

Anybody know what to do to prevent this from happening ?

Thanks in advance for your time and effort !!!

Cheers,

Read: The playfield is larger than 1024x1024. Resize it and it should be fine.

Table updated to v1.1. See first post for changes.

As requested brighter images for those that wish a brighter table.
Unzip the archive and reimport the images into the table
Here is the file: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SJZPYF5S

It looks like this with the bright images:

Excellent table UW. I think the brightness factor varies a lot depending on what type of monitor you are using it on. Im on a CRT and it looks great at night time with the lights off or low, but harder to see the detail when playing in a well lit room in the day. Including the brighter image pack was a great idea.

Keep in mind that on Nvidia cards you can bump up the digital vibrance setting which may also help with darker tables.

I had one problem with version 1.0 (havent tried 1.1 yet) and that was when you shoot the ball with less than full power and it just touches gate1 and then fall back down into the plunger lane, it would often bounce back into the ballrelease kicker slot and not come back out again. Could not nudge it out so basically have to restart the table to get it going again. Whether this has been fixed with the new ball speed Im not sure, it will probably still occur but in slightly different circumstances.

Edit: 1.1 has the same issue, if you try giving the plunger enough power so that the ball just hits the gate1 and then falls back down again it will bounce into the ballrelease and not come back out.

Great table and a big thankyou.

my bad, i forgot to put the gate in there. If you want an ease fix open the table in the editor. Place a gate on the table. Uncheck the boxes for visible and supports. Cange the rotation to 90. Place the gate at the opening to the ball release. That fixes the problem.

I'll add this to the next update for the table. I appologise, don't forget this is only my second table build, i'm still learning. wink.gif

Easy fix UW, thankyou. By the way, no need to ever apologise for any problems. Everyone should realise that any table released by an author should have no guarantees of working 100% correctly or even at all. smile.gif Its nice when the problems get fixed but we shouldnt expect or demand this of any author.

Just another small suggestion UW.

The ball image you have used that has the reflection of the 2 overhead wires in it (I think thats what they are??) tends to accentuate the fact that the ball isnt really rolling and gives the appearance thats its just sliding around the table.

Easy enough for people these days to use their own preferred ball image though. The one that JPSalas uses in his Harlem Globettroters on Tour VP9 works very well.

If only we could get the front and back rolling texture to work in VP9 again.

Yes you know, i didn't really put much thought into the ball image. I see your point about the reflection. I really wish we could get those rolling images again, it would make a world of difference. I'll update that also in the next update. It's good to get even simple feedback like this to improve the quality of the tables. I think i'll try to add a ball rolling sound also like scapinos matahari. I just need to find a good ball rolling sound
