Can someone include a volume control in the editor? One that could tweek each title so we can raise the volume on the music and lower it on the table and click save. That's the one feature I would love.

Do you mean this?

BorgDog and I talked about seeing if you could add the ability to edit the values of items directly on the "Select Element" screen.  Also adding more columns, I can't remember which BD said,  maybe the physics settings.

That would be visible, and position I believe, but yeah physics would be nice too, pretty much anything, add a field chooser and let us put whatever there.

Welcome back!

The size of the images displayed on the Image Manager depends on the video setting of the maximum size of the textures, if it were possible that the maximum size of textures not affect the display size of the images.

I with a limit of 2048 can not display the images 4k or 8k.

Maybe I read it but I don't remember, what is the limit size in VPX ? 4096 x 4096 px ?

Thanks

Max

There is not hard coded limit. Afaik DirectX 9 has no limit just the hardware limits the resolution.

As for the texture sizes, the problem is that each texture is resized to the size you define in the settings so that's actually the only size VPX sees but I'll check that again.

Great to see the next beta thread off and running again. With the combined desktop and full screen in VP10 the plunger object in respect to the park position seems to be always be set to the default value which i believe is to add a visual bounce to the plunger when using a button. When an analogue plunger is used with this park position after the first pull of the plunger the plunger extends out further than the initial start position. Its easy enough for me to set the park position to zero for each new table but do you think it would it be better and possible to have VP10 disregard the park position when the use analogue plunger box is ticked.

Cheers

This might be met with a lot of criticism, because it's a huge undertaking by the devs, but here goes.

Right now when you create a new table from scratch in the builder, a version of a saved table is loaded from a file embedded within VP itself.  This is nice because the table is somewhat fully playable and I 100% recommend this table be kept.

What I would like to see added at some point is a second "new" option which somehow builds a new table "procedurally" based on the users desire to build a specific playfield size.

What I mean is, when this second new option is chosen from the file menu, the first option presented to the user is the playfield size menu, and the next option would be whether or not to populate the playfield area with objects, such as the ramps, lights, targets, and bumpers, etc that are in the default table we have now.  If not the playfield will be an empty space, and the standard objects we already have will only placed to the sides of the table exactly as they are now.  The script will have to be built "on the fly" whether or not the playfield objects exist.

The next step in this procedurally built new table will be the box and side rails which when the next options are selected, will be scaled to the correct size and maybe coloured according to the user selections made to the materials properties if that is even possible.  ie: The user will be given the option to set the box to just a plain unpainted wooden box, the same way it is now, or to select the colour of the box from the VP colour wheel we are familiar with.

The next step would be whether or not the user wishes to use the default apron.

Once the ok button has been clicked, the table will be built from a script rather than loading a prebuilt table from within VP.

The advantage here is rather than increasing the size of VP by having all these *new* tables prebuilt and saved within VP, we will have access to all the standard layouts with a small increase in size of the EXE.

The disadvantage I see is this is going to be a huge undertaking for the devs.

On the other hand, someone could simply go to the trouble of resizing the default table, adjusting all of the ramps and objects, then saving a separate copy of each playfield size and finally uploading it to the VP downloads section.

I hope this seems like a good idea.

Best Regards,

Todd.

Kruge99 I think that's a great idea especially the part about a box coming up for playfield size.. I've been seeing quite a few tables built the wrong size in VP witch is a shame..

I agree awesome idea.  And I don't think it helps incorrect size table matters that the current default "new" table is not the correct size for any real table.  At a minimum that should be fairly easy to size to a standard size for the default.  As I understand it the "Dimensions Manager" is really just a dimensions reference right, it doesn't actually do anything?

Right the dimensions manager should help you getting the correct sizes in vp units when you start building a table

In vp10 all the tables have a red shine on it.
It look I have my color setup of the tv set to red.

Hi all-

I wanted to ask a question about a feature that may be easy to implement that would help organize timers, etc. Would it be possible to set up decals so that the text is visible in the editor? I'd love to be able to put things into sections according to their function and have that be reviewable with a quick glance

I see that others have discoverd a great feature of VPX, running the table in Camera mode so you can adjust the x,y,z, etc settings of the table.  I see someone suggested that it would be great to export these settings somehow would be great so that each person can have a custom table that can be upgraded.  Maybe an xml export option on that screen would do and load these settings if present on table load.  Also along the same lines can you devs add repeat to the keydown when changing values in camera mode.    Thanks for an awesome program devs that keeps getting better and better.

Thanks Fuzzel

Just by curiousity I would like to know if it could be possible to add some kind of user preference preset POV... taking a specific SAMPLE table to capture POV preference of users and use this preference to auto adapt and match as much as possible any table loaded when the option is Enabled. a bit like BAM on FP when you save default config.

Thank you for your hard work. It's really impressive!

What I would love to see is a way to select (increase) the nudge-sensity (globally) for all tables.

VPX is so great, but I liked nudging in VP9 much more. In VPX the Nudging is so light, sometimes I don't see anything happening on the table :)

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english.
