I feel like a thread similar to this is kicking around some where.  People tend to mention the same tables over and over again that are the more popular tables but really most of these tables already look great in VP9 and wouldn't take much to convert to VP10.

Pretty much any VP8 conversion table that dboy has done could benefit from someone having a look at it.  One table I came across that wasn't in too bad of shape was Cueball Wizard.  I think it could greatly benefit from just a few primitives and lighting updates.  I'd like to make the Cueball / Pool Cue thing a primitive.

As you can see from the image below, the table's artwork is pretty good, but you can tell it's outdated specifically from the 2D image based flasher domes that were commonly used during that era of VP.  People should note that most of these tables are set up wrong due to the manual showing the wrong set up, the Cueball should be up top and the 8 ball below....according to Todd Tucky (TNT amusements) and I tend to agree with him, in pool you never hit the 8ball with the cuestick, you hit the cueball.

index.php?app=downloads&module=display&s

Imagine that cue ball like the ball in hercules! and with new lightning GI and better stuff/art. Mmmmmm :D this can be done in a week! Let me know who is up to the task. I'm in.

Well, I haven't gotten an official nod to be able to mod and release this table, but I started to mod moogster66's FS version of TMNT.  I really haven't been able to find better resources for the playfield, but the one in use was pretty good.  What I have done so far is:

-implemented fading light and flasher routines, redid all the lights, as they were previously drop walls, added missing/incorrect solenoid calls, replaced some objects with primitives (not done yet) but so far the bumper caps (which currently are not true to the real table), upright targets, wire ramps, flippers, flashers, pizza spinner with updated animation so it slows down and speeds up, sewer manhole...Dark is helping out with that one, as it really needed to be a very thin cylinder, as opposed to a two-sided flat object.  Hmm, what else...redid the autoplunger so that the multiball works correcty, redid the apron...I really took this farther than I expected.  I was just going to add flashers for my personal use, but I kept going so hopefully it can be released as it's a pretty fun table, and...come on...it's the NINJA TURTLES!!!

At the end, I plan to convert it to PM5.  Also, I have the red bumper cap animated to move up and down slightly.  Michaelangelo is also supposed to animate up and down, but right now, the figures are ramps with images applied to them and I don't know how to move them.  Hopefully down the road, they can be primitives.

I think Humpy Dumpty and slick Chick are good candidates as they have a place in history and have not been done properly or with VP capabilities yet.

A good suggestion, the PF and probably the plastics need redraws however.

Bram Stokers Dracula and six million dollar man doesn't have a vp9 full screen. Those two could use some love.

There are three reasons why I think he is wrong.

- The flyer has the 8 ball on top

- the manual refers to the position of the cue ball and removing it from the playing field. http://www.arcade-mu..._Wizard_OPS.pdf

The manual even has corrections in it so they were certainly not afraid to update the manual if needed.

- During side pocket mode the quote is 'shoot the cue ball'.

So manual, flyer, software and all cue ball wizard pinball tables created by Gottlieb are wrong? I don't think so.

Also I find it more natural to aim for the cue ball, just like playing billiard you aim to hit the cue ball. In practice that means the pinball ball is the pool cue.

On the other hand, If you update the table please do whatever you like :)  The ball position isn’t affecting game play so it doesn’t really matter where the cueball is positioned.

T2...ok the chrome edition is nice, but a "real" VP version of it, and not angle dependent, would be great! :D

If you watch the video he explains that some people like to debate this because the manual shows it that way but he insists the manual got it wrong.  Todd Tucky's logic is sound and even if the cue ball really is meant below I feel that would be an error on the part of the designers.  As Todd says, in pool you don't hit the 8ball with the cue - ever.  The game is dumb "shoot the cueball" who say's that playing pool?  I'd prefer it to be authentic though even if it does mean promoting a dumb idea.

In any case it wouldn't be hard to just have an option to switch their texture maps since they are both the same size ball.

An updated Swords of Fury would be pretty cool.

Lots of wonderful late 70' - mid 80' tables around but still quite a few that could use a face-lift also. It has been so great to beta test things like Buck Rogers and Vector for VP10. Only problem is that it really sharpens the apatite for more of them :)

I think that we are really lucky to still have such a great variety of superb VP table builders around.

I must say that I am really pleased that King Pin and Pinball Magic is being worked on. Those are clearly among the most needed and wanted and will really help VP10 off to a flying start.

I agree 1000% with those that believe we need other tables before yet another mm, afm, taf, etc. but you will not get any complaints from me either, if that is what we will get first. They are the most popular ones, after all.

Any new build in vp is a celebration as far as I am concerned and things are looking good at the moment :)

I thought that Uncle Willy was doing Pinball Magic as his first vp10 build? (I could be wrong, of course)

He is? I thought Monster Bash was his first VP10 table?
Well, good luck to him.
I'm curious how he handles the missing GI emulation, the stage and the magnet on the wand.
