Dangit, ok, so it sounds like most people have this problem.  Maybe I did accidentally move that object right before uploading it.  I'll check sometime tonight when I have time.  If I find that I didn't move it, then there must be something else going on and I'll just remove it altogether in the next update.  Dark provided me a better metal wall, and I think some better physics is on the way so an update is in order in any event.  Please keep all the feedback coming.

In the meantime, if the gi issue is bothering anyone enough, you can just open up the script and search for "pfon" and "pfoff" and delete any instances of them.  SORRY!!!

Oh, and the black box around the ball, that is a transparency thing with the ball image.  Not sure why it doesn't always save the transparency settings.  Go into the image manager and look for the jpball image, I think it is, and change the transparency to complete black.  For some reason, it sometimes defaults back to a shade of grey.

I am curious if anyone downloaded the PM5 version of harley davidson as I also tried the GI effect on that table.  Are people having the same issue with that one?

Fun table...  great work Edizzle !!

Same GI problem and black square on ball.    Also noticed that on pickup during the ball lock the ball is half shiny and half grey.

"And i have a small black Box at the Ball, whats this (Little) Problem ?"

STAT,

The black square on the ball is because the transparency color is set to gray on the Chrome_decal image in the image manager. Change it to black to make that go away.

And ...

Edizzle.

Great job on the table! And I am also getting the GI image as shown above.

Thanks for all your hard work!

AL

hi naboodiver,  yeah, the half shiny half grey deal is known, and I believe is a limitation on texturing the ball primitive.  Ideally, rather than using a primitive, moving the actual vp ball would be best, but that was beyond my ability.  I figured the table should be released as is and if someone with more skill than I wanted to tackle it, they could.

The Snagger ball pick up is about as good 'looking' as it's going to get short of some serious coding to move an actual game ball for this animation.  As it is now it's swapping out the game ball for a primitive ball, the primitive ball when viewed from the right angle will look exactly like the game ball (as seen in Sega's Frankenstein when Frank holds the balls in his hands) but since the ball gets rotated substantially during the animation it shows the other sides of the primitive ball.  VP currently uses a 2D image for a ball and the ball images are also 2D and won't 'wrap' around a real 3D mesh ball, so the best that could be done was to make it so the 2d image is applied to the 'back' and 'front' of the ball, so there is a seam where the ball image stretches to meet front and back, also when the ball is rotated it's rotating the image/texture along with it.  You can see the same sort of thing happening in Last Action Hero when the ball is being moved by the crane.  There's a few examples of complicated ball animations using the game ball, like Hurricane, Cyclone and the one that comes closest to the effect needed for Lost World would probably be Apollo 13's moon ball.  Hopefully this is the one of many things that will be improved with VP10 making use of an actual 3D mesh ball.

Thanks for the fix on Chrome_Decal...  That did the trick...    I figured it was a transparency issue.     I was messing with the JP_Decal.    Did not notice the Chrome one.      Don't get me wrong on the feedback.    You did a great job on this table.    Much respect.

BTW  Edizzle ...   I am not seeing the same GI problem on the PM5 Harley Davidson.

Thank you for this great table. I HAVE played HD quite a bit. I've had no issues. I like the upgraded lighting a lot! Just had a terrific game with almost a billion score.

just a way to fix the few problems...

- ball decal transparency color should be set to black

- the dark layer should be rotated and so put a little highter because without that it appears it goes out of the view area.

- the rest is just my screen setting with black sides instead of grey...

:)

Yes, there is an update on the way.  Javier added ball rolling sounds and adjusted the physics, which are very nice.  Argrim added some DOF changes and also some controller options.  And dark provided a better back metal wall.  And then I was going to implement a change similar Aubrel's for the GI issue most people are having.  Hopefully in the next few days an update will be here.  Happy New Years everyone!

Oh yeah, and as you can see in Aubrel's screenshot, the ramp decals are much more clear than in my screenshot.  Slydog's scans and Dark's work are very high quality.  For some reason, the show up blurry on my laptop, but just fine on my cab.

I seem to be having a problem with this table that no one else is having.  Table looks great, rom is working, backglass is working, but whenever I start the game, the ball quickly floats out of the launcher and goes to the top-right of the screen and just stays there making it impossible to play. I would suspect the calibration of the nudge device, but I installed another PM5 table at the same time and that one works fine (Austin Powers by Javier1515).  I also have others and have not had this problem on any other PM5 table.  Any ideas as to why this is happening?  What can I do to change any settings in order to try to identify the problem?  I've been looking forward to playing this one and would love to get busy on it!  (Not sure if this is the proper place to post this) THANKS!! :db:

try disconnecting the nudge device anyway and report back. It'll be good data.
