In the 3D preview randr showed it looks really good, was it too high poly or something?  It looked just like the real thing.  Oh well alls well that ends well.

There's a method in 3dsmax where if you make a very basic model with adequate verts that has the same 'volume' as the model you can use 'conform' tool to make it like shrink wrap to the model underneath.

Nice table, thanks for all the additional tweaks. I've adjusted this table for desktop usage here are the settings I used..

Inclination 50

Field Of View 50

Layback 0

XYRotation 360

X Scale 0.8625

Y Scale 1.15

X Offset 0

Y Offset 80

Result..

an_t.jpg

Some additional movement of the genie eyes is still required, although I'm having difficulty in isolating them so any help there would be appreciated..

offhand, is anyone having issues with volume? i used the end key and +- to toggle it all the way up but the table sounds are approx 20% of the system sounds. I've never had this issue with other williams tables. any suggestions? Beautiful mod though...this is a joy to play

OK got the genies eyes fixed, I had to adjust the primitive Genio in layer1 to fit, change Y Base Base position to 298, Z Base Base position to 200 and Y Size to 400.

Additional turn off side visible on wall286 and wall291.

*edited with new info screenshot, better primitive settings.

I made new magnet (a long time ago actually) using a simple primitive. I uploaded the beta 4 of the table this morning :) The only changes are the magnet and that thing looking like an inflated doll called Genie :) I guess 3D is not my thing, hahaha. One day I'll go back to that Genie and I'll see what I can do with it, just for fun :) But maybe you want to take a look at the magnet and see if it looks better in your MOD :)

Awesome!  The new genie model looks fantastic really adds depth.  Table is a blast to play.  I don't have LEDs on my cab yet, but I think they might be overkill with this NM. :)

One issue for some reason the genie looks kinda dark metallic grey/blue on my system not  the plastic powder blue he normally appears. Anyone, have this or know what's doing it?

Edit: I went back and looked at the screen shot and mine is the same color.

Here's the code I provided in the Desktop thread that JPSalas said seemed to work perfectly; it triggers a lamp "rub" 2 per 360 rub:

    Sub SpinTimer_Timer
    Dim curPos
    Dim oldLampSpeed:oldLampSpeed = lampSpinSpeed
    lampPosition = lampPosition + lampSpinSpeed * Me.Interval / 1000
    lampSpinSpeed = lampSpinSpeed * (1 - cLampFriction * Me.Interval / 1000)
    'added by jim - makes this sub a bit safer (even though this shouldnt happen in normal use)
    Do While lampPosition < 0
    lampPosition = lampPosition + 360
    Loop
    Do While lampPosition > 360
    lampPosition = lampPosition - 360
    Loop
    curPos = Int((lampPosition * colLampPoles.Count) / 360)
    If curPos <> lampLastPos Then
    LampPr.RotZ = 360 -lampPosition
    If lampLastPos >= 0 Then ' not first time
    colLampPoles(lampLastPos).IsDropped = True
    colLampPoles2(lampLastPos).IsDropped = True
    End If
    On Error Resume Next
    colLampPoles(curPos).IsDropped = False
    If Err Then msgbox curPoles
    colLampPoles2(curPos).IsDropped = False

    ' If oldLampSpeed > 0 And lampLastPos > curPos Then'
    ' 'rev anticlockwise
    ' vpmTimer.PulseSw 56 ' ? or 57 and the other is 56
    ' ElseIf oldLampSpeed < 0 And lampLastPos < curPos Then'
    ' 'rev clockwise
    ' vpmTimer.PulseSw 57'
    ' End If'

    '********** Code added by Shoopity to attempt to award two "rubs" per 360 spin'
    If ((LampLastPos < 180 AND CurPos > 180) OR (LampLastPos > 180 AND CurPos < 180)) AND OldLampSpeed > 0 Then
    vpmTimer.PulseSw 56 ' ? or 57 and the other is 56'
    ElseIf ((LampLastPos < 180 AND CurPos > 180) OR (LampLastPos > 180 AND CurPos < 180)) AND OldLampSpeed < 0 Then
    vpmTimer.PulseSw 57
    End If
    '********** End code added by Shoopity'

    lampLastPos = curPos
    End If
    If Abs(lampSpinSpeed) < cLampMinSpeed Then
    lampSpinSpeed = 0:Me.Enabled = False
    End If
    End Sub

Really all you need is the five lines of code I indicated, replacing the previous 5 lines (not counting commented lines).  In the Desktop table, that sub starts on 786, but I haven't downloaded this table so I don't know if that's the same.

Salutations everyone!

Another magnificent looking table, my most sincere and humblest "thank you" to everyone involved:

Q: Does anyone know how to remove the backdrop image from the running table? I mean I know you can remove the backdrop image from displaying in the editor but how do you remove it from the table when it is running?

I would prefer the backdrop to be black so it "merges" with the black walls on my cabinet. Right now it has a redish, green swirling pattern that I would love to remove/swap.

I have removed the Backdrop image from the Image Manager and this has removed the image when in the editor (regarthless of whether the option is ticked or not) but the table still displays it when running.

Thanking you all once again and in advance

I like the genie model so much, but I want a copy of this table with the old genie image, how can I adjust script to make the wall (with the genie image) works like the 3d mesh?

Thanks shoopity! I will add it to this one..
as for the old genie it was just an image on a primitive wall.. you could download the old table and copy it from there.. the old picture should still be in the editor.
