Hi angrim,

In the editor click on options for the option window. There is a point called Dimensions and Slope.

There i adjusted:

Slope Min Difficulty 4.5

Slope Max difficulty 4.5

After, in the Background settings i tried the settings from Les73 to adjust:

Backdrop - Physic and Graphics

Gravity Constant 1.1

Playfield friction 0.028

Plays well ;-)

works better with the settings adjusted , but still when doing postpasses then you see the ball float and speed thru slingshot lanes are sometimes realy to slow just dont look realistic.

Yes, I agree. I used the gravity and friction settings but had to set the slope back to 6.1.

Gstav,

I checked the config, your user config, your generated ini file, and all is fine there

And all the shaker events have intensity I16, so i don't know how this is possible

And the effect can only be configured on the ini file, i don't need to add anything to trigger the shaker in tom, it is between vpm and dof, especially the solenoids, the switches are triggered from the script, but the solenoids from the rom

something specific to these shaker events is the strobe is called at the same time, try to remove the S2 and S5 from the strobe, in italic below, to see if it makes a difference?

Hi Arngrim! Thanks for you reply

I'm sorry if this is rather OT but if anyone notice strange DOF behaviour I thought I'd share something I found on my cab.

As I have had my cab for some years now I have hade the ledcontrol.ini since the legacy times, and as new config files was made

to replace the old ones I somethimes replaced them with the ledcontrol_01.ini, ledcontrol_02.ini and so forth so I could revert if I wanted to.

Now when I completely removed the shaker and strobe event from the DOF 2 fille, it seems as it also reads the old ini files, which must be caused by the

file name. Thats why I still got action although I removed the directoutputconfig.ini completely.

I hoped that I could report that the table now is stutter free, as I think that reading multiple ini-files at once was the cause to the stutter,

but as I acidentally removed some inportant file in the cleaning process, I have yet to get the table up running again.

I'll get back if I get some positive results in this.

cheers!

i don't follow your issue...

if you have dof installed, make sure the ledcontrol.vbs and ledcontrol.ini files are NOT present anymore, move them to a backup folder for example, and don't rename the directouptutconfig.ini, they must keep that name.

Hi Arngrim

I hade old ledcontrol.ini-files ledt in the tables directory which seemed to be read by the DOF system simulaneously. 4 config files!! :D

No wonder it stuttered a bit. Now it flows perfectly, even with the shaker and strobe active!

Thanks for your help!!

Adjusted the settings and I really like this table, favorite game of all time...wondering though my Trunk magnet does not grab the ball and drop it behind the trunk for multiball...any idea why this is?  Same with Midnight Madness.

Hate to shout into the corpse of a dead thread but,

I've been converting everything in my collection to PM5, and based on my experiences so far, don't mess with gravity, don't mess with friction. (keep them at 1 and 0.1 respectively)

Increase the elasticity of playfield rubbers and targets, (0.4-0.45 seems to be a decent value for targets and 0.6-0.8 for rubbers), and keep the Elasticity Falloff of Flippers in the range of 0.3. Elasticity Falloff is set too high on every PM5 table without fail, which is why your flippers are too 'sticky'.

None of this is revolutionary, (all of it is within reccomended physics values from the VP10 wiki - https://github.com/c...ki/VP10-Physics) but it's a good thing to be aware of. It's going to be a long road to get tables updated to VP10, so getting tables playing well in PM5 in the mean time is the way to go - plus PM5 plays absolutely stellar and I'm not going back from it :)

Can't really help you with the post-pass, it does seem to be an issue with the positions of the posts though.

I know there are a ton of changes that need to be made in each table to get the physics "right", but I still can't seem to get the sweet spot. Is there any way to start a thread with best settings for each table to convert or would that be against the rules? I started with the vp10 wiki and just can't seem to get it right.

Actually, after re-reading this... dumb suggestion. Disregard. I'm just beginning to dabble and need to learn the principles of the physics to hopefully start building tables and not rely on everyone else's work that they took the time to put in.
