Are we just pretending that a B2S backglass does not exist then, since it does not exist on another site?

Are we just pretending that a B2S backglass does not exist then, since it does not exist on another site?

I put in a request for one to be made about a month or so ago for this, the only one available on this site is a static one, is there one else where with light sequence that I'm not aware of?

[edit]: Looks like there is, but I won't be the one to link to another pinball site from here.

I also think it could probably be improved on a bit, image could be better and darker for light sequence to show up better, but its decent.

[edit2]: Okay after playing a bit on it, it has solid bright flashers as well, and the image of the back glass seemed to change partly or get kinda glitchy, hard to explain.  Think it could be because some of the flashers have to flash so rapidly since data east loves to do that.

What a great job with this table, maybe some of the best lights I've seen yet.  the crane may not be butter smooth on my pc but its certainly smooth enough.  I've played the real machine and I don't recall it being as fun as playing this one tonight!

Question:  are these lights reflecting how lights are build for VP10 beta moving forward?  (is that even part of physmod5?)

That hurts, Shadow...

...ok I'm over it. Hugs. ;)

I too, as nice as phys5 plays, would like to see 9.9 version... Phy5 is like the good (beer, wine cigar, etc...) that you only pull out when a friend who'd really appreciate it comes over. Too big a pain to config PinballX atm. IMHO...

there is a tutorial thread to add a new custom table list in pinballx, it is not difficult, physmod5 is just better..

Configuration for multiple VP exe's is pretty easy actually. I run 9.21, 9.90, and Phy5. I don't even have to move or copy the VP folder. Although, for me, I tend to keep only one version of a table. Here's what I did:

In the Setting Wizard - Other Systems screen -define a new system for Virtual Pinball. Call it anything you want, "Virtual Pinball - New Physics" maybe. Enable it. Same Working Path, same Table Path, same Parameters as your usual Visual Pinball settings. The executable will be PhysMod5.exe or whatever.

Go the PinballX/Databases folder. Create a copy of the Visual Pinball folder. Rename the folder to "Virtual Pinball - New Physics". Inside the folder, rename the xml file to "Virtual Pinball - New Physics". Edit the file in Notepad or whatever. Cut out all table listings where you do not have a PhysMod table. Save the file.

Go to the Visual Pinball folder. Edit the Visual Pinball xml file. Cut out any table listings where you are using the PhysMod version instead. Save the File.

Now go to the PinballX/Media folder. Copy all of the contents of the Visual Pinball folder to a new folder and call it "Visual Pinball - New Physics". It doesn't matter about having duplicate media files unless you simply need the disc space. It will work.

That's it!

Agreed on better... I thought there'd be more releases. I tried recommended settings on 3 or 4 tables and was often flying through walls and bouncing up on the apron. Wasn't a smooth transition. I love (LOVE) the legacy tables and so appreciate the physics import/export. I wish 5 were so simple (it's not THAT simple, but you know...)!

and that works for the big master list or are these sub groups?

Master list. It's not evident that a different exe is being used. I don't really try to edit the tables. I only have the two or three that were released in that Physics Mod thread. For the same reason, I still have a handful of tables that don't behave well with 9.9 where I route to 9.21, T2 Chrome Mod and Star Wars Trilogy for example.

If you just wanted to keep the Physics Mods in a sub group and not have these presented in the master list, go to "PinballX\Databases\Visual Pinball - New Physics" folder. Copy the Visual Pinball - New Physics xml to a new xml file. Call it Test.xml. Go back to the Visual Pinball - New Physics xml, open for editing, and clear all entries leaving  two lines:

<menu>

and

</menu>

Save the file. That's it. The physmod tables will not show up on the main wheel. You can see them as a sub-menu item "Test Tables".

Great info, this is the first table released only as physmod (that I can see) so these questions are pertinent! I hope it leads to more physmod tables. All my future tables will be simultaneous physmod/vp990 and I hope we're starting to see a trend towards this.

On another note, I severely apologize for derailing this thread with my shenanigans. Feel free to pistol whip me. This is about your table only and it's a beautiful table.

super_troopers_shenanigans.jpg

I've played a few games on this table, it's pretty fun, I haven't run into issues with the ball lock yet though so not sure what I'm looking for yet. I think it can be fixed. The primitives look great, and the lighting looks great. I enjoy the effects with the flashers. My problem is, and I won't hold this against you because as a table author you should build tables the way you like, that the table is so extremely angle dependent. This means we can't adjust the layback because the flasher images will be off, not just flashers, but the ones you and dark have customized for things like ramp reflections. I think the idea is great, and the execution is great, it has me thinking of other ways to achieve this that would reduce angle dependency. I know that comes with VP10 but how far are we from that?

Sorry for the tangent, just was thinking. Beautiful table you've got here, this is definitely a step above. Excited to see you continue and do this kind of justice to more great table.

Oops, sorry man didn't see yours on here, I just knew there was another one but figured we were ignoring it cause it's not here.  Besides I knew you couldn't stay mad at me I'm as cuddly as a Honey Badger! :console:

Man, this is unbelievable! If this table is a foretaste of what is to come in VP10 - glory days are coming!

And this table is the trigger for me to ask: How can I use a different VP.exe for specific physmod-tables in HyperPin? I absolutely want to do that now! :)

In the settings sub directory of Hyperpin create a file named vpexetables.txt

In that file include the table name (without the extension and then directly below the table name the exe that you want to use.)

i.e.

Silver (Gottlieb 1957)
VPinball990a.exe

Dozer.
