What if xgon would just publish here on the forum all the fixes he did? I may be mistaken but I seem to recall folks sharing fixes to some tables by sharing a table that removed everything else except the fix (Black Rose by Lord Hiryu, IIRC). That way, we wouldn't be publishing an unauthorized mod and everyone could enjoy the time and effort xgon put into fixing a table we all love.

Rules are rules and they are set up for a reason, get permission from Melon then it won't be a problem to release the table...

 

Maybe just post the fix to the script, as you say, it's an easy fix.... Although I'm not even sure if you can do that... Noah???

So, who originally asked Williams for permission to create the table? Or maybe it didn't seem like such a big issue, since they had abandoned supporting it...

We hold the wishes of our authors in the highest regard, and no modding without permission has been the policy for many years now. Without this policy, there would be a lot of conflict and hurt feelings, as seen many times over the years. This continued wish has been expressed as recently as a month or two ago. It's not going to change.

We now have permission to mod right in our download section now, and can be set right in the individual downloads. This table was released prior to that feature, so it's considered 'unspecified' and not open to modding without permission.

Without the great authors we have had throughout the years, we wouldn't have the great community we enjoy today, and they deserve the utmost respect and consideration.

 

The fix can be posted for others to implement into the table, as that isn't considered a mod.

well i chatted with kiwi about fixing the light problems in fishtails by rosve in a thread ( before rosve released his final V1.3 - thanks for that btw )

so it was just a little homework and i never posted a link to the table with the changes...

in my opinion it should be ok to give directions how to fix a problem on a table , especially in a case of noshow of the author

(well after reading noahs post a few lines up i feel a little stupid LOL but i seems like he is ok with giving directions )

I really hope someday "Melon" can be contacted.

For my own personal use, I've been working on a "Gold Night Mod"...because The Addams Family is one of my all-time favorite pinball tables.

A few of us have been adding improvements here and there to it, just casually with no hopes of it really ever being released. It's actually coming a long quite nice, imo.

There is still a ton of stuff I personally want to do to it, so it's no where even near being finished.

Here's a quick snapshot of how it looks. Who knows, maybe one day, right?

I once saw on this site a thread explaining step by step how to replace the PF with a darker one and providing a modified script. (If I remember correctly)

I'm quite happy with the way the table looks in my cab since then.

Looking good Aaron. I have done a desktop version of a gold a while back.

Wish I had time to give it yet another face lift.

On the one I'm doing, I still have to add all the toys, and change the backdrop, and gold bookcase, etc..

I too have this real table sitting beside my Vpin. And Melon did a good job on it, no denying that. But Someone really needs to redo it with what VP is capable of now.

 

The physics and shots are considerably off on this table and it could do with a graphical refresh since so much has changed in the time since it was made. It is one of my favorite pins and I would love to see it get the royal treatment in a rebuild. But then, I am not an author... Just a player, so I won't be much help in that regard. But if anyone needs reference photos... I do happen to own one
