the physics are way too bouncy, nothing like the real table.

If I remember correctly, in an earlier thread you wrote that you don't play real pinball, you play only virtual pinball (mostly FP). How come you know what the real table is like then?

And since you find FP physics good, not sure if this judgment can be taken seriously :P

The accuracy is good though, almost too good. Real pinball isn't so perfect.

This doesn't make sense to me. Real pinball is ALWAYS perfect, since that's the real thing anything virtual is modeled after. But maybe I misunderstand what you mean.

If you feel that PA seems to work perfectly the same way in certain repeated situations, then the accuracy (of the emulation) is not good, because as you wrote, real pinball is not so perfect and it is much more unpredictable in some bounces than that.

Not too keen on PA.  First, the tables have no options so you're stuck with 3 balls and the default table slope.  So unless you're a pinball wizard, you have no chance of getting to the Battle of the Kingdom on Medieval Madness.  And secondly, the physics are way too bouncy, nothing like the real table.  Try and catch the ball on the left flipper and it bounces into the left outlane!  What!?   The accuracy is good though, almost too good.  Real pinball isn't so perfect.

Looking to buy a Nexus 7 which I've heard is the best tablet on the market.  So no doubt, I'll buy the entire PA collection even though I'm not keen on it.

Jon - I am pretty convinced you are playing the wind-up merchant again.   :pinnochio:

Just wanted to share that I sent a message on the FB page asking if there were any plans for a PC port and got this answer:

"There are plans for the game to be released on Steam, Windows 8 marketplace, and the OUYA console."

Hadn't even heard of it till my brother told me he was playing all these cool pinball tables we used to play in our youth, and now he's playing them on his Galaxy S3. I've Followed VP for many years but then he's telling me he's playing Fun House, Taxi etc on his phone!

Alright, here is a bit from Mr. Reitmeyer over at the Fan Forum: (source: http://pinballarcade...78500#post78500)

"We just got access to the Steam SDK a few weeks ago.

http://www.gamasutra..._developers.php

In the past the SDK wasn't available until you were greenlit/approved and unfortunately they changed this policy after we were greenlit. We've never done a steam game before, so it is all new to us.

Adding more people on the Steam SDK integration wouldn't make it get done any faster. It's a common misconception that more programmers working on something makes it get done faster. The problem here is the work I'm doing now isn't modular enough to break up into smaller parts to hand off to someone else.

I'm splitting my time between doing Steam and implementing new tables. I've done most of the tables so it makes sense for me to do them (I can get them done faster than anyone else from all the experience). I also have done the most work on PC. Handing off Steam/PC to someone else wouldn't make sense cause we'd have to spend weeks getting them up to speed on how PC works.

From a business stand point, the new tables are most important because they bring in revenue needed to sustain the studio (pay utilities, salaries, etc). I love what I do, but sorry, I cannot work for free. I have bills of my own to pay and a family to take care of.

On the bright side, I'm pretty much full time on Steam right now.

The biggest part I need to get done is how the DLC works. Once I get past that (hopefully soon) it'll be much easier to finish up. DLC is tough cause every platform does it differently, so I have a few questions in with their dev support.

I've checked out how they (FX 2) do it, and I would think we would want it to be similar.

We would like to allow demoing tables. I'm not sure yet if we're just giving away Tales free, then each table pack is bought, or if it'll be a 4 table launch pack like we did on consoles. Those decisions are up to management."

More info (same source):

"I wasn't blocked by management decisions, I was blocked by information Valve gave me that seemed contradictory to how we wanted to do things. It seems they misunderstood us (terminology issue of In App Purchase vs DLC), and it's been clarified so now I can move ahead. So far they've been very helpful and easy to work with.

I'm not 100% sure if we are doing just tales as a single table, free or paid, or a 4 table pack to start. And I don't want to promise anything that may change.

We do however plan to allow the user to demo every table. I got clarification on that as well.

While I agree that the PC could be one of our largest markets, the business side is unsure what the sales will be. They do know the sales of Mobile version do way better console and mac. So since it's an unknown it's a lesser priority than getting tables out every month. We also haven't shipped a PC game in quite a few years, and the last one we did, I don't remember it selling all that well. But in all fairness it wasn't a pinball game =D

However, I'm working hard on steam so it's definitely coming. Just don't know what date exactly yet.

Season pass for season 1 and 2 will be available at launch.

So far the plan is to release all tables that have been put out on mobile up to date at launch. You can buy the season 1 pass and get all the first year tables at a discounted rate. I'm not sure if Steam has an approval process for patches, so I imagine we'll be releasing new table packs at or around the same time as the mobile."

should be able to get discounts or something on the tables, if you previously purchased these sets for another system!

otherwise..i just buy the new ones on pc..and stop buying them on ps3.....and just play the other older 24 tables on the ps3 and vita.

plus they really need to add 3d support and options to change controls/buttons around!

If they added controller support for Android I would buy the season 1 pack in a heartbeat. The demo tables hold my interest pretty well, excited to hear they're joining Steam, too.

Since the notion of pinsims on the PS4 has just come up, does anyone know what the maximum screen res of the PS4 will be? It can't be any less than full 1920x1080 HD in this day and age, surely.

So Pinball Arcade by farsight studios seems to be very poor. I have all the tables for xbox 360. And the same gameplay can be reached with future pinball.

No it can't.
