Just wondering if many have played these tables and what's your thoughts. Also heard at some time in the future the platform will be available for PC, which means possibly sticking in a cab ???

Hey buzz! Nice to see you around again. I have their tables on android and the kids xBox and they are first class in my opinion. As hmueck said they will be supporting cabinets eventually but they are having trouble getting Steam to take it on. If you already have a Steam account you can vote for it under the Steam greenlight process. If you don't have Steam and you are really keen on seeing a PC version you could buy a 1$ game and vote. It was against my principals to do that but after 6 months I thought oh what the hell :D

There is a lot more info in this forum:

Why don't they put a portrait mode in the Xbox and PS3 versions? Sure it would be one screen only, but adding an xbox to a cab is cheaper than a high end pc that will surely be needed.

Visual pinball users seem to be very divided on how good TPA is. I Personally love it. I Play it a lot on IPAD 3 and xbox. The xbox version have not been updated in a while but Farsight have a new publisher and new tables should arrive on the xbox around March or April. I have tried Twilight zone on a PC beta but it did not have mapping keys, portrait mode, graphic options. The graphic quality was close to the xbox. Farsight has reported that The final pc version will have portrait mode, mapping keys and graphic quality options. Support for at least 2 montiors will be included at some point. They are even looking at buying themselves a Virtual cabinet for their office space.

The physics are getting better with each new table pack. There is still a few bugs on some tables but this is also getting better.

Just hoping they will find another option besides Steam Greenlight for the PC ver. Otherwise we could be in for a looong wait.

Thanks guys, been trying PA on my nexus 7, and I'm impressed. Gonna vote on steam, and hopefully this thread might help with a few more votes from forum members. And yes setting sons, its nice to be back :-) :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD

A year ago i had no real interest in pinball nor did i ever play the real tables as there were none local to me. Got my ipad 3 and came across pinball arcade game and fell in love with it. I rarely play games but this had me hooked and in doing so found this site. So hooked now i'm building my own cab.

Agreed. Anyone can mount a monitor/TV on a wall bracket etc and use their XBOX/PS3/WiiU in portrait mode. It is a major drawback to not offer it. Maybe MS/Sony don't allow it or somnething.

They have said they want to do PC & portrait mode, but that the priority for that sits well behind just getting the game released, then they might focus on portrait.  People around here at least need to understand just how much of a niche cab use is.  Most people really don't care about it, in fact there are a lot of TPA players who don't even know what VP is.  I just want the game on PC, regular desktop is fine by me.

I have the game for 360, PS3, android, & ipad3.

I play mostly on ipad3 due to convenience.  It is pretty stunning on there with the retina display.  Playing pinball games at 2048x resolution is awesome.  Yeah the lighting isn't what you get on the consoles, but again the clarity of textures makes up for that, IMHO.

There are some details with TPA physics that keep it from being Pro Pinball quality, things I've mentioned to them & they "say" they are working on them.  Minor things in the grand scheme of things & yes pretty solid physics.  Sad to say, but thank to TPA I never fire up the VP versions of those tables anymore.  Simply no need.  VP however will always have tables that TPA never will, & I'll gladly focus on those.

I think the more pinball software the better - if one pinball program gets someone interested in pinball, then surely thats good for the whole scene.

If people start to join and read the Pinball Arcade forum then they gonna find out about VP - There`s some links already to vp topics.

People have both VP and FP side by side in their cabs, and desktops, why not have an additional 3rd option of Pinball Arcade.

Just my 2 cents.........

They need the home roms for some games and they need to back off the high price to open the coin door and change settings. And default is EB for replays?

I was thinking about buying this tablet because I don't like touch screen only devices. Pinball arcade for android would be very nice on this cheap device I guess ( $165.99).

I play PA on a Mac. It beats having to resort to virtualization or booting into Windows.

Not too keen on PA.  First, the tables have no options so you're stuck with 3 balls and the default table slope.  So unless you're a pinball wizard, you have no chance of getting to the Battle of the Kingdom on Medieval Madness.  And secondly, the physics are way too bouncy, nothing like the real table.  Try and catch the ball on the left flipper and it bounces into the left outlane!  What!?   The accuracy is good though, almost too good.  Real pinball isn't so perfect.

Looking to buy a Nexus 7 which I've heard is the best tablet on the market.  So no doubt, I'll buy the entire PA collection even though I'm not keen on it.

In an arcade, did you ever have the choice of 3 or 5 balls or changing the slope?  Of course not.  This isn't VP.  Also, sounds like you need to update your tables or something.  I don't think physics are too bouncy at all, but some of the tables that used to be have seen updates to fix this.  Well, the 360 version likely still needs updates.
