I forget what I used but I thought there was a simple installer program. I don't remember getting started being very hard.

Reading, trying, reading, reading, again reading and trying until you understand every meaning of each word. Then you come at a point where all fits and seems rather logical. At that stage you can play and profit of all the work done by all the artists here. Then you want to make your own (re)creation; again : Reading, trying, reading, reading, again reading and trying until you understand every meaning of each word. Now I'm at the stage of trying to code a game which seems the most difficult (for my skills), but I won't give up! The second one will be more easy ...

Itchigo,

You don't suppose he's one of these guys that jump into a forum, post something that gets everyone fired up, just to get them talking, do you??
That kind of guy I can't stand.. lololol...

I hope he gets all the help he/she needs and deserves..Nobody should be without pinball...

I was just saying he's not a new user. He could be from another country too, that's why he speaks that way. But you're right about getting people fired up and leaving- he hasn't posted back and the thread has just kept on going.

Ok i am back, the noob... and to my suprise i am still having problems, now i got some tables loaded but it seems they go super slow.. like 1 fps? and i get no music or anything this his a joke really.. i have installed the newest version i have the necessary rom files and the setup says everything is ok. I dont think my computer is a problem, dual core 3ghz, 4gb ram etc etc.. i can play most games but some pinball games suddenly is a no go... sad.gif i stick to what i said, this is really impossible thank god there is futurepinball you load 1 file and it loads amazing fast and runs great too.. its a shame since there is many nice tables here but not fun when its not working at all... Either this program is really buggy and very unstable for some reaason or i have the worst luck and reading the guide doesnt help my problems either.

Name a table that works and one that doesn't so we have something to go on. What's your graphics card specs?
Make sure you enable "Hardware Device Rendering" under video options.

I spend hours (days of combined time) over the course of a couple of years and never got VP fully up and running.

Mame on the other hand I got up and running within the first few hours of playing around with it.

I did finally have success--- but it took a $4500 VirtuaPin to get me up and running.

Seriously, you're still having issues? Biggest problem is people don't follow the instructions. I've loaded VP on probably a dozen different systems with no problems. It's all in the details and understanding how to follow them - if you don't add the right ingredients to a recipe your dinner will turn out like crap too.

As for FP - maybe you just got lucky, and getting tables to run on that isn't just one file and go either - Family guy is a good example, how many additional files have to be placed properly to get that to run? FP crashes on me more than VP...
