ok, i have installed everything according to the tutorial. Now I am having an issue where I open both vp8-vp9 by double clicking the pinball symbol and the programs cant find the table Ive downloaded (back to the future). I downloaded the rom file, left it zipped and put it in the vpinmame rom folder. I downloaded the .vpt file unzipped and put it in the table folder. after messing aroung for a while I got the tables (both bttf and the top speed table it came with) to get into vp9, even though I have no clue how I did it. Top Speed ran and played fine, but bttf came up fine in the editor but kept running into errors...I appologize if this isnt the right place to put this, but I would love any and all comments and help. Thank you all so much edit: I changed out the Rom for bttf n now it works fine. But every time I open vp9, then click the open tab under file it closes the program. I'm sure I'm making a rookies mistake, any thoughts? ?

Have you right clicked on the vpinball.exe and told it to run as administrator under the compatibility tab?

Maybe you are running XP.
I think only Vista and 7 have the run as admin section.
Wish I had another idea.

What about vbs files? Do you have those- in your tables folder? That would give multiple errors if you didn't.

I am running xp and the vbs files are up to date in the tables folder per the getting started tutorial ...is there another way or place to download the vbs files??? I am determined to figure this out n get my pinball on...

Not if you downloaded them from the "Getting Started"\ "Essential Files"\"VB Scripts" in the red stripe at the top of this page.
Those should be all you need except for a few 80's tables that need the nvram files as well.

Also make sure your vp8 and vp9.12 are separate. Not a good idea to keep them mixed up.

You really do not need VP8 at all.
VP 9.12 is your best option so try getting rid of all your corrupt files and just load VP 9.12
You would only need VP8 to play some older tables that are not available on VP9 which is not that many anyway.
Something has got to be corrupt in your file structure for it to keep closing like that, especially if you had it running before.
