I just tried and successfully submitted a score (Medieval-Madness_VP91x_2.3.2).
It was my first game at all after a long period of non playing.

Thanks DnaDisturber! Cool feature! I like it. dblthumb.gif

I was using:

VP 9.12
VPM 2.4
Windows 7 64 bit (UAC off)
MS Windows firewall (didn't ask for permission)

On the highscore list it looks this:

Thanks yogiholzer... you are the first (other than myself) to set a score !
Nice to see it all works well....windows 7 even as well.

My score was just to see if it registered the score in the database but I now feel the urge to play MM to see what I can score....

I only made 1 game. It was the first after I installed VP/VPM once again (because of PINemHi).
The score isn't competitive. I just played the game without to lose the ball intentionally.

My reply was to give feedback at once and to animate others to try as well.

Next thing I have to sort out is this: The table wasn't displayed well. I tried to play it on a 16:9
monitor without scaling (not stretched) and that worked ok (not well), but the table graphics
were shown wrong, as if they are in wrong sorted layers or so. Some weren't shown at all.
I know this was content of different threads here at VPF, but I didn't understand what's wrong
and what's the solution (languague/technical terms).

Hi Yogi,

Thanks for testing and feedback..... I understood right away that the score wasn't competitive otherwise it would have been of course much higher. dblthumb.gif
But I must say that it really triggered me to play a game again myself......Just the way I hope it will work for everybody who joins...

Maybe you are referring to the alpha ramps regarding the table graphics with your fresh install of VP ?

Thanks again especially for testing it on Windows 7...

I'd love to participate, but the idea of allowing full Internet (it's connected, but IP-blocked by router) to my cab scares me.
I don't feel like having to install some (lagging) AV etc. etc.
Though the project is awesome !

It works great. I haven't gotten it onto the cab yet, but I did play it on a mini system (Zotac Atom Dual Core ION board) with Windows 7 Professional x64 on it, UAC turned off, running with an administrative account. No weirdness at all - flawless execution.

I played Scared Stiff, which slows down like crazy during multiball, even with all the goodies turned as low as possible - but I was still able to set a 51,577,570 score on the desktop version last night. biggrin.gif It's all in the looping the left ramp over and over with that table. Once Elvira has her little orgasm (This thing is huge! And ribbed! Yes! YES! YEEESS!! LOL), it's 450,000 per loop if you can keep it going. Racking up a massive score that way is easy if you can consistently loop.

Totally fun!

I'll give it a go on the cab as soon as I can, but it might be a couple of weeks. I have a wall-tearing-down project going on in the basement at the moment, I need to pack for Cabo for Friday morning, and I need to wrap up as many work related loose ends before I go as I can. I'm really looking forward to setting a score on the cab when I get back, though!

Awesome work, DD!

If you're not browsing the Internet or reading e-mail with the cabinet, and it's behind a firewall, it's safe from viruses. Go for it! I did! biggrin.gif

Truth be told, I don't run AV on any of my machines. I just don't open e-mails that look sneaky, and I run NoScript on Firefox so I can allow only trusted sites to run scripts and addons. Never been a problem. The few times I have been infected, I knew it was probably going to happen because a customer reported a problem, so I went a looked and got nailed (though I do that with a virtual machine set up for that purpose, so I can just reset it via VMWare's snapshot feature back to before the infection, so it's ok). biggrin.gif

Your stuff should read:

VP=C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPinball912.exe
nvram=C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\nvram\
tables=C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\Tables\VP911 tables\

It figures out the .nv and .vpt files based on the game picked from the menu that pops up (that you haven't seen yet due to the error you're getting). smile.gif
