I know for a fact that you won't get any sounds from this table if you use a UVP. I have tried it numerous times and it won't work. You can use a static backglass in HP.
I don't mind being called a PINHEAD!
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy!

Ahh so UVP is the culprit! Backglass doesnt add much on this table so I will just go static.

Good to know that it was UVP. I don't use it since I just have a single monitor smile.gif And Funhouse is next... smile.gif

UVP prevents the samples from playing. Of course, it's a Stern table, so the active backglass isn't really active. You don't lose much of anything with a static backglass

@deadsoultz: turn down the volume a little in the VP preferences, audio options.

This is the FS (Fullscreen) table made for cabinet setups. You want the 4:3 (Desktop) version......

vol of 20 is too high for this game. You'll have to lower it to around 14-15. It has to do with the unique sampling rate. You can also try experimenting by setting the vpinmame registry settings for this rom to 32000.

Also feel free to make use of the red box at the top of this page that says Visual Pinball Desktop.
It has a drop down menu that clearly list all tables for VP8 and VP9 as well as the Roms in alphabetical order. smile.gif

yes, but there are still e.g. more than 10 different roms for LotR

I mean how hard can it be to put the download link for the correct ROM in the first post of the support topic or the download page... rolleyes.gif

or even easier, in the download itself!!!

Won't happen due to "legal" reasons. Just get them all, they are small and don't count against your d/l. They are simply different versions of the same game,. If you dont want to do that, all you have to do is edit the script to tell it the rom name you have in your folder.

another question: how can I shrink the display, for some reason it's blown up and hard to read?

Right-click on the DMD and select "display border", now you can resize like it's a Windows window,

Did you know that "playing pinball" is called "flipperen" in Dutch? Now you know and may your life be enriched by this arcane knowledge....

Yes. The Roms can't be included with the table as stated above.
When you first run the table it will tell you the exact name of the Rom it is looking for in the error message that pops up.
Another way that I use all the time is the number of downloads on the Rom.
If you look at Lord of the Ring Roms you will notice that version 10.0 was downloaded 7,573 times.
The other versions are not even close to that amount. Odds are that is the correct one.

I could argue that especially in the case of LotR there are multiple versions of the table done by different people and confusion is guaranteed but whatever

just found out hardware device rendering drastically improves my performance, and immediately played the best LotR game of my life happy.gif

720 000 000 :-)

no clue whether this is a top tier score on the emulated version but it's sure a hella lot better than I was able to do on the real thing, lol
