Yes the ogg music sounds better and it is smaller than wav files. And by including the music in the table makes it possible to control it better using the playsound command. That's why now my original tables will be smaller in size.

Ya know, i started wondering, for a minute, Hey! what if we could support midi? BASS.dll supports it.

Then i realized, in 2021, nobody has a wavetable card, cant load a sound font, and their OS has no midi mapper and cant pass through sysEX
and after a square or two of toilet paper, there went that idea.

Many years ago, VP 6 I think, or earlier :),  had support for midi. But then it stopped supporting it. I guess because of an OS upgrade.

I don't know why but I only hear the music and no sounds from the table at all. Does anyone else have this problem with 3.0.1? It is very strange to just hear the music and have no other sounds at all...

Thank you in advance for your help!

Great table JP! I'm not getting any DOF LEDs lighting up for the table. I see an entry in the DOF Config Tool for a table called "Ghostbusters JP." I assume that's this table? Just wondering if I missed and install step or something. Is there anything I need to do to get the addressable LED effects working on this table?

Thanks so JP in general you recommend using the OGG file format over mp3 in vpx tables? When I retrofitted the audio track and sound effects for VP9 Scooby Doo El Pinball, I ended up with a 500 meg table because all my samples were .WAV files. So I gave up on the project until I can shrink down my table filesize.

Mp3 and ogg are similar and they both are equally good. Use those formats for music and sounds played on the back. And use mono wav for the mechanical sounds played on the table .

I like OGG better for some things, but MP3 can be a little more widely compatible, depending on codecs and audio drivers a person has

Then you do not have FlexDMD installed. I really recommend you to install it as it works much better than UltraDMD (although the latest version of UltraDMD has many bugs fixed).

Go to this thread and download it:

Mythos if you get stuck let me know, most of us have switched over to the Flex/Freezy solution (though I did like ULTRA, thanks to you developers). If you follow the basic threads you will get a clean install and is worth the effort. Major Frenchy is really good at explaining things as well, is good to follow what he is doing.

That error can be flexdmd trying to display a letter and there isn't an image for it. I guess in the highscore entry. The version 3.01 has this error fixed.

The fix was to change the "allowed" characters in the highscore entry:

So download the latest version or search in the script for hsValidLetters, around line 1675 (or similar), and replace it with this one:

hsValidLetters = " ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789<" ' < is back arrow to delete the last letter

I have managed to fix it.
The error was due to the fact that she had changed the name of the table.
Thank you very much for your help.

Great table,  thank you!  One issue I have is that once I launch it and start playing, I can’t exit out of it.   This doesn’t happen with other tables so I am thinking there may be an edit I need to make in the exit function of the script.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Do you mean, that the directb2s didn't go off, when you close the Table ?
