When you bridged your pins 15 and 16... did you bend them out and bridged them or did you bridge them but still have them connected to the octoboard?

I simply bridged the two pins with a small bit of wire soldered to the tops of the pins while the Teensy was already installed in to the Octo board. (I think you already read this in the other thread.  I just didn't want to leave a hanging question.)

Hopefully this can help some people

 

If you are having a bunch of weird artifacts and the Dot matrix does not look right i did the following 2 things and it worked. 

 

1- Solder pin 15-16 together with a wire or by bridging them with solder. 

2- I manually flashed the Alpha firmware using Teensyduino. ( for some reason the Beta firmware does not work on any of my systems. )

Maaannnn! I am fed-up with all the testing....... i get shapes which are somewhat Linear ( like square etc.... ) but they do not look even close to what people have posted. When i play a game it will light up, show different colour and weird shapes are appearing. 

 

i tested 2 teensy, 2 octo, different wires, different config in dof and the cabinet. etc. etc...  I sent the e-mail to Paul at PJRC but i have not received a response.  If anyone else has ideas to run by me that have not been posted before, let me know.

The beta firmware runs good and stable for what I can tell. I have a teensy control box and that made it pretty simple.
Pretty much plug and play.

It's just one of those things. I test it on 3 teensy 2 computers , 2 dot matrix and it was doing the same until I decided for some reason to flash the alpha firmware and voila.....

Hello I'm in the process of building my first cab. I got all my leds to work in the basic test mode. Now when I try to start a table the teensy acts likes its gonna start then nothing but one corner led on the matrix will light solid blue. It sounds similar to some of the problems earlier in this thread but I have read through this thing 20 times and still cant get them going. I have playfield rh and lh with 144 strips and the back matrix with one pre made 8x32 also hooked to 2 8x8 matrix. I have them running off the teensy with cat 6 rh on orange lh on blue matrix on green. Here are my xml files hopefully you guys might see something. Any help is greatly appreciated.

After you paste - highlight it, Then click on this symbol above <> then post

I'm assuming you have it all set up on DOF website, downloaded files for your set up put them in the config folder

I don't see anything wrong in your files

Have you tried unplugging other hardware that may be interfering with this

If you do then change the DOF website to match remove the files from your config folder and put new ones in

I don't believe this error has anything to do with your problem

I am building a virtual pinball setup and purchased to of these matrix led panels:

Anyone know what I would need for a power supply and how I would need to wire it up for power?  I should mention these 2 panels are to be seemlessly placed beside each other at the top of my 55" screen.  (that is why I have 2)

Any chance that can work on a pincab? Looks like it might be a quicker and cleaner answer to doing the rows. I dont know if it was posted yet Im still back in jan 2018 or so in replies trying to hunt down what issues im having. But im not ready to ask for help yet. Will that panel work for animations and stuff along the back of the cab?

Ok im ready to get some help. Ive followed the setup correctly I believe, the basic test runs, but it goes up 1 string and then it continues on the other strip. Is that how it should go? Ok as for what its doing. After doing the basic test, I reprogram it for the fast_led.hex file, speeling isnt correct. And then all the LEDs stay on. The light blinks fast on the Teensy. My cabinet file is exactly the same as the one at the start of this thread. Im sure im missing something simple, this is my 2nd stab at this, tried months ago and failed. Right now im just staring at blue LEDs and a fast blinking LED on the Teensy.

Ok im ready to get some help. Ive followed the setup correctly I believe, the basic test runs, but it goes up 1 string and then it continues on the other strip. Is that how it should go? Ok as for what its doing. After doing the basic test, I reprogram it for the fast_led.hex file, speeling isnt correct. And then all the LEDs stay on. The light blinks fast on the Teensy. It does nothing on any table.
