Installed this table and WOW! thank you everyone involved.  Plays and looks great .

I also liked the supplied LUTs - Hope more tables support that feature.

Thanks for your instructions.. , hardest part was to get mouse pointer over that toggle option.

Love, love , love this table! Thank you so much!
Question: How could I hide the rails and make the sidewalls higher?
It would help a lot in cabinet mode for POV with more perspective to be able to get rid of the rails. Higher sidewalls make things look more real as well.

This table does not seem to use a boxed prim, the sides are walls, and the rails on the top are ramps

You could try raising the wall heights for the surrounding walls and then raise the height for the ramps that serve as rails

you could hide the ramps if they are not wanted

but if the walls do not give the effect you are looking for, you might have to copy the table box (big hollow prim the entire table sits inside) from another table

and retexture it with the textures biggus was using or something similar.

You will probably need to fine tune both the size and rotation of the cab box to suite the table.

Biggus might have an easier suggestion

Okay hopefully not making people answer a common problem again but in doing searches I could not find an answer.

I have this table installed and everything seems to be working great but one thing.  When I press my left flipper on my cabinet which in the controls window is bound to the left shift button not only does the left flipper work as you would expect but it cycles through a whole bunch of lighting schemes with various names.  Not sure why that would be bound to left shift as well.

Anyone know what is going on?

*Update : it changes lighting scheme on the release of the left flipper button

It should be tied to Magna-Save key.

You can go into the table script and on Line 102 you will see this...

DisableLUTSelector = 0  ' Disables the ability to change LUT option with magna saves in game when set to 1

Change the Zero to One so it looks like this...

DisableLUTSelector = 1  ' Disables the ability to change LUT option with magna saves in game when set to 1

This will disable the LUT selector.

That may be the LUT (Look Up Table) adjustment feature kicking in.  Some table authors add this feature so you can easily change lighting and color effects within the game, but normally the way it works is to hold down the left Magnasave button while clicking the right Magnasave button. It shouldn't happen with flipper button presses unless there is something wrong in the VPX table script or you have mapped your buttons incorrectly.

Have you checked for a newer version of the table or tried downloading and installing the same one again?

Thanks to both of you.  I am using an ALP and nothing else is bound to that same button and no other tables have this problem.

SO....I am about to go change the script on this one table as suggested.  Standby!

I seem to be GTG!

No idea why just this one table was behaving like I had a button double bound but oh well thanks again.

Hi,

I'm new in this forum so please pardon me if I write something not appropriate, I'm here to learn and hopefully help too when I mastered the ropes.

This table blew me away, it is by far the best I've tried so far. Thanks to everyone who worked on it!

I have a problem with the the DMD,

see attached screenshot. I can't get rid DMD shown in the left of the screenshot.

I tried by using the setup.exe of the vpinmame, by toggling the various checkboxes regarding dmd via F1 once in the simulation,

enabled / disabled cabinet mode for vpinmame but nothing, I can't select that DMD with the mouse or move it. I managed to do the same with other tables by locating the window in vpniname / editing the script (commenting out variables related to dmd)

but I can't seem to get how the DMD work in this table.

I tried different options for the window (fullscreen / window) in order to debug this issue but it doesn't seem to change anything

can someone help?

Table version: Theatre of Magic (Bally 1995) 2.4 VPX

VP version: 10.7.2 Final (Revision 366 (f9da1e)

thank you

You cannot get rid of it, because it is part of the table itself.

you would have to move or delete it in the table editor

180 'Dim UseVPMColoredDMD:UseVPMColoredDMD= DesktopMode
181 'Dim UseVPMDMD:UseVPMDMD = DesktopMode

Commenting out those lines will get rid of the hardcoded DMD

hi wario14nd,

by commenting out these lines, it disables also the central dmd which I want to keep.

anyway I found out the relevant dmd in the Backglass/POV view of vpx and removed it from there.

thank you all for the tips!

Just move it up out of the viewable area
and you wont see it, dont even need to delete it.

Some tables it will be a flasher beside the playfield instead of in the backglass area
just move the flasher upwards and it will wind up off screen

I ran into an issue that I don't see reported here.  While playing, I initiated the 3-ball multiball and hit two successive balls into the magic trunk.  The first ball triggered the jackpot, but the second had no effect.  The first ball was ejected through the trap door as usual, but the second ball was never released.  I waited a few minutes to see if a ball search would clear it, but it never initiated a ball search.  I had to shut down and relaunch the table

This is an amazing table.  Definitely on my list of favorite virtual recreations.  Thank you Fleep, Rothbauerw, 3rdaxis, Skitso, and everyone else that worked to bring this gem to life.

Best,

-G

Hi all

Is anyone else seeing issues with TOM using the latest and greatest VPX and VPM?

It seems to be OK for a while but is slow to return balls to the shooter lane, the GI seems to come and go, the flashers seem to get stuck on and eventually the flippers get stuck up/down or are slow to respond.

I'm not convinced all the correct lights are lit during play either - the rollover lights seem to be lit all the time, but go out on a roll over which is the reverse of what I'd normally expect.

TOM_13 and the latest VPX 10.8 RC4 and latest VPM from github.

Is this a table that doesn't like VPX x64 as it feels VPX based rather than VPM to me.

In general you should use the vpx version which the table was made with.

In this case TOM 2.4 is a 10.6 table. Try this with vpx 10.6 and it should be fine.
