My wife was also not a video game lover but she will play pinball anytime she can. I have no problem cleaning booby prints off the glass on my Pincab, whenever the kids are in bed and I hear the Bad Cats playing I know that is my que.

My problem started when my wife came into my game room one day, winked at me and then looked toward my virtual pinball machine to which I responded, no way, that's a brand new glass.

nice... Jodie Foster style... ;)

My wife admitted the other day that my arcades and pinballs have grown on her.  She is about to lose her mind that I said I'm getting a claw machine though!  Haha.  She enjoys the VP versions of Medieval Madness (the latest VPX version is incredible, btw) and Dark knight...games with easily-identifiable objectives...destroy the castle...hit the scarecrow crane...and I love the DOF shaker motor effect.

Anyways, I apologize as this has probably been discussed. but I have been kind of out of the loop on the progress of VP10 and I didn't find anything in a quick search...but most notably on the new versions of Medieval Madness and AFM (another visually stunning table), I get really noticeable lag for every time a flasher first goes off...like it has to be initialized or something.  After the first time it goes off, it's fine for the remainder of the time the table is open.  As soon as I close and restart the table, the same thing happens....really bad lag for about 1-2 seconds for every flasher going off for the first time.

I recently upgraded my video card to a GTX 660 and haven't messed with  much of the settings, but since upgrading, I get a solid 60fps in vpx and most tables run fine, except for the initial flashing.  Any suggestions on settings to change, or is my hardware just not able to keep up?  It's an i-5 processor running windows 7, btw.

does anyone have a collection of VP10 tables that is sharable? the majority of the links in this thread are now broken/out of date for updates.

Here are updates to my Pyramid and TKO tables, now both with anrgrim's new DOF methodology, and numerous other fixes and updates.  The new DOF method requires a controller.vbs placed into your scripts folder with the rest of the vbs files to run.  I have included that file in the zips for your convenience, and HERE is a link to arngrims post about it.  And again, hold down left flipper for 2 seconds for the options menu.

File on my dropbox until we get a vp10 section here (end of beta).  Pyramid   TKO

Had this null error pop up on the latest AFM RTM 6 after playing for a few hours tonight. I sent 2 balls in the up kicker to the right of the saucer virtually on top of each other.
Love this table and all the thoughts and ideas that keep happening awesome work .

OK can't upload a phone picture anymore as it is too big. Even cropped. What a PITA this has become.

Line 475 - Do While bBall.Z >0

Anyways I hope this helps

I may be missing something here as it is late but I have no Force feedback on Pyramid but I get it fine on TKO ... looking at the config tool site .... seems to be no config for the Pyramid table?

More great EM tables, the options are really cool to be able to change them in game and the Dual Tables ... Just WOW .... Thank you and we love all your hard work

BorgDog, great job on TKO very well done and works with DOF as advertised. For my taste I lowered the flipper strength to 1600 to slow things down a bit, otherwise everything is perfect. On Pyramid I can't get DOF to work properly, I have the latest 1909 config file, the mechanical sounds are muted but no DOF action except for button lights. Might be just a DOF config issue for the Pyramid, because your TKO and JP's Smurfette are working correctly. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!

I'm not sure what's causing the crash but it's either the sound pan entries or the timer routine that makes the ball appear to fall into the hole.

Open the table and edit the script, go to line 467 and change the entire sub so it looks like this.

You can copy and past the below if you like making sure to replace what is current there or just add

the differences below which are a comment in front of Set bBall = ActiveBall:Me.TimerEnabled =1

and the addition of me.destroyball underneath the above line.

Sub sw37_Hit
    PlaySound "fx_ballhit"
'Set bBall = ActiveBall:Me.TimerEnabled =1
    me.destroyball
    bsR.AddBall 0
End Sub

If you make the changes save the table and post if you still experience the crash after the change is done.  If it still happens it could
be the routine to pop the ball back out of the scoop.

Fair warning: it's a performance hog. For a game from 1987, there's an unhoIy amount of lamps. Lowering AntiAliasing helps.

nFozzy - Many thanks for Space Station, no performance issues with my rig. What I have noticed is that during multiball the balls look different - the coloured light reflection is not there then (just simple shaded grey) which is quite annoying because the effect is very strong in normal single-ball game play.

I had a quick look at this tonight - thanks for putting it together, it looks very nice and is one of my favorites.   On a GTX 980 with 4GHZ I7 I was getting dips to around 70 FPS near the flippers. I replaced the HDR image you used with one I use in my tables and started seeing frame rates of around 250fps in the same area. Looks like that image is causing a frame rate issue.
