This is the oldest Table I have in my cabinet. While a bit before my time, I got it because that was the name of the arcades in the malls that I played-in as a kid. So I found-out where the cool-name came from.

I'll have to get this new (upgraded) version and give it a play. I'll likely just use this previous BackGlass from the library here (as it's nice).

From Goggle's AI Summary:

Bally Manufacturing originally owned Aladdin's Castle arcades, purchasing the chain in 1974. Bally sold the chain to Namco in 1993, a Japanese video game company that was later acquired by the Bandai Namco Group.

I try to figure out how to show the menu option without success.

How to change free play for coins play and 3 balls to 5 balls?

Thanks teisen for the update.

Press 2 key, then use right magna-save key to select option, and use left magna-save key to go to next option.

Thanks for the info Xenonph !

I hear a sound when hitting the magna-save key so I don't see the menu options on screen and I don't know what settings I change. :hmm:

That's a difference between the old, ugly, dark playfield and this one!

Did you move the images offscreen in your backdrop settings, because it's working for me.

The bumpers shouldn't set to uncollidable in tilt state.

If you do this, the ball goes through the bumpers like the 4D Man in the film of the same name through walls.

I am running this on VPX 10.74 and it looks and works GREAT!!! Unfortunately it only gives 3 balls. I have read above that you press the "2" key and magna save and then you see a menu that lets you change the ball settings. I also see that you have to "move the images off the backdrop". What exactly does that mean?  The backglass I am using is the one with the score reels built in, not the backglass that uses the DMD scorewheels.  When I start the game on my 3 screen cabinet and I press the "2"key noting happens and nothing happens when I press either magnakey.

Thanks,

Mike

Are your MagnaSave Keys actually programmed in VPX? And try with actual keyboard.

In VPX/Prefs/Video ... try temporarily disabling "Force Exclusive Full Screen Mode" while you try doing this.

I haven't gotten around to trying this new table, but I'm guessing these old ones didn't have actual Dip-Switches so these types of options aren't on F6 where they are normally found.

Yes. My MagnaSave keys are programmed and work fine for everything. I have over 300 games working.  I think the changeable ball settings for this game may only work when you are using 10.8.  I have not made that jump yet.

Thanks,

Mike

This table IS Not rom-based, so No F6 or dip-switches.
All settings are programmed in Script.
With vp10.8, there is the F12 menu. A lot of table authors use this Menu to give the Player Option to Change some settings.
You can navigate in this Menu with Magna and Flipper Keys, Press start Key to save the settings. F12 to toggle this Menu on/off

FYI for anyone interested in running this table on VPX 10.74, which is quite beautiful and fun to play, I cannot find anyway to get to the settings menu to change the balls from 3 to 5. But either way it's a great table!!!!

Hit the 2 key (Buy-In key), and then use Left Magna-save to select menu item. Hit Right Magna-save to change menu item.

Sorry, the 2 key does nothing on my table. Nothing appears. No menu at all like the photo you show above.  My backglass does not change at all.  I am running 3 screens but using only the backglass and playfield screen for this. DMD is not active. Where do you think this menu should appear? On the Backglass screen or Playfield?

Thanks.

Should appear on the playfield screen.

Try holding down the flippers both together before starting a game once the table is loaded.

It will show on playfield, but cabinet users will need to Open Coin Door. (End Key)

Then use flippers to navigate. And Player Start (1 Key) to toggle selection.

I appreciate your help. But the end key does nothing either for this table,. It DOES open the coin door on many other tables. This menu appears to be only available on a 10.8 system. My 10.74 system will not activate it.

If someone IS running this on a 10.74 system and IS able to get that menu up, it means I have a different problem!

Thanks again for your help!
