Table will not start after inserting credit. Pressing the one key has no effect. Did you even bother having someone test the table before you uploaded it?

Table will not start after inserting credit. Pressing the one key has no effect.

This table needs a Pre-Initialized nvram file for the table to accept coins.

This is how you initialize the rom, so the table accepts coins.

Start the table.

With table running, press these 6 keys in order.

Press End (This opens the coin door)
Press 7 (This toggles the service menu)
Press Left Flipper 3 times or until it selects Game Adjustments
Press Right Flipper to confirm Game Adjustments.
Press Player Start (This toggles factory settings)
Press Player Start (This selects english language)
Press F3 (This resets emulation)

Now you can add coins, and credits will go up when you press the 3 Key.

To make the 5 Key add coins, add this to KeyDown Sub in the table script...

If keycode = AddCreditKey Then vpmTimer.pulseSW (swCoin1)

Now the 5 Key will work to insert coins. (It may take 2 quarters for 1 credit to appear.)

Added nvram already initialized as attachment if needed.

Hi,

Thanks for this table, as I saw it in WIP threads but never hit the release ground. Was always curious about playing it.

Just need a little helping hand here please ; I disabled the flexDMD in the script, but the original DMD don't appear, even in background. How can I make it appear again ? I tried different things in the script with no success.

Also thanks xenonph for your nvram, was really helpful.

Open the table in editor and go into script, and on Line 25 you will see this...

VarHidden=1

Change it to...

VarHidden=0

Now the original DMD will show.

Dear Bigus1, Kristian, Mnpg, Destruk & xenonph,

thank you for making this table available. For the convenience of other community members here a nv ram that plays 5- ball and accepts coins (1 credit per coin in each chute):

Enjoy, greetings, Christian.

I appreciate Bigus tweaking this table. It's not been an easy title to find for us Gottlieb completists.

Download the nvram added as attachment in post above.

Place it in your nvram folder, located in your VPinMAME folder.

Yesterday we tried to play the game 1st time. We have no rom- sound! Gameplay is ok. But where is the adjustment?

Thanks in advance for all hints, Christian.

Try using the Tilde Key method.

First turn off FlexDMD in script at Line 20.

Then on Line 25 change to VarHidden=0.

Now left click on the regular DMD with mouse, and click the Tilde key, (The key to the left of the number 1, at top left of keyboard)

Now you will see a volume bar, which can be moved to the right with the right arrow key to turn it up.

If you press the down arrow, you will see 4 other sound options which can be adjusted.

When you have finished making your adjustments, simply click the Tilde key.

@Mustang1961 and @xenonph

I do these kind of modifications always directly with vpinmame "setup(64).exe".  So no need to change and rechange table script

Search the rom, click at "Game Options", select "show DMD..." , then OK, then click "Test".  Then click into the rom window and use the Tilde key and Cursor keys to change the settings.

(at end, maybe don't forget to unselect "Show DMD")

But in your case, im 100% sure : click "Game Options" and just check the "Extend Mono sound to Stereo" - this have to be activated.

This is a new feature since some versions in vpinmame, and often the rom settings have deactivated this as default...

Dear Sirs,

thank you for your kind support, I tried EVERYTHING - no sound. The important hint came from the setup64.exe tool wherein was stated that in my rom the sound was missing. That explains why I could not see with the tilde method the bars for the 4 sound channels. Then I searched for another rom and found a different one with the same name but 58 k instead of 18 k size. Changed the rom and the sound is on and ok.

Sincerely, Christian.

I had to update to the newest FlexDMD

If you used the baller installer, there is an NVRAM already in the NVRAM folder, but it doesn't have the right name for this table.  Here was my solution.   Copy the NVRAM lca.nv to another folder and RENAME it lca2.nv.  Recopy it to the NVRAM folder.  Run the game.  Works fine.

I thought we couldn't publish this table, since the table was made with playfield assets from Farsight's Pinball Arcade version, or is this another version?

I did my own investigation and this table bears little resemblance to the FPA offering.  I doubt the sky will fall, so I thought I'd suck it and see. It was sent to me years ago and it's been back and forth with new additions from other folks a few times. I didn't name other contributors in case there's a problem. Anyway, so far so good :)

Oh goodie, I've been cut from the credits on the 24 table now.  Folks seem to be enjoying my work, so that's nice to know.
