Hi! I thought of showing you what I'm working on.

Many people asked me a VPX version of Wrath of Olympus. And seeing that the VP9 table is almost 10 tears old, I decided to make a VPX version.

The version I'm making is not going to be the Riot Pinball table, it will be the prototype I build for T-800 (Scott from Riot Pinball). The table had a nice layout and nice rules. I know many things did had to change before it became a real machine, due to physical constrains and of course new rules & ideas. So my table will include all the graphics and sounds that Scott made for the prototype, and with a few minor cosmetics changes that I have added. So, to be clear, this will not be the Riot table, but a kind of updated prototype.

I have made some changes to the layout, mostly the ramps, and some changes to the graphics, mostly just adding some more color to the plastics and inserts. That's why it will be one of my "JP's..." kind of tables, similar to the original but not exactly the same. Here being the original the prototype, and not the finish real machine.

I'm also going to build the script from scratch since I have learned a few tricks in the last 10 years and because of the new possibilities of VPX :) And I also want to make a nice 4 players table, as the old script wasn't exactly very friendly for 4 players.

The music and sounds will be the same that T-800 made for the prototype, but now they will have better quality.

I know T-800 visit this site so I hope he likes that I make this table (at least it is free advertisement :) ) If not then just say it and I'll stop :)

Here you can see 2 screenshots of the old VP9 table

and 2 screenshots of the one I'm building in VPX

PS: If you look closer to the desktop versions backdrop, I have removed the Riot Pinball logo, as I don't want the table to pretend to be a recreation of the Riot machine.

Yes, Yes, Yes ... That's great news JP ..... Great rule set on that table as well ! Side Queston for anyone who knows; from a snippet from the VP9 version of the table of WOOLY, is it possible in VPX to treat the sound clip like a sub scripted variable instead of an exact literal?  So in effect you can reference an alternate sound in stead of what is exactly inside the quotations, have a pointer to the sound library?

    If BallSaved Then
        DD Center("BALL SAVED"), Center("DONT MOVE"), eNone, eBlink, 0, 1000, True, "vo_ballsaved"

This is wonderful.  I would LOVE to see ramps like that on a real table.  Real nice stuff here, JP.

Following!

(Also, the tips you gave me about the ball action worked!...meant to message you back  :db:  Thanks!)

This was one of my favorite VP9 tables. I am glad you decided to bring it over into VPX. :dblthumb:

Yes, you may use a variable for the sound part of that line.

WOOLY was always one of the top originals, can't believe it is 10 years old already!  Well done, the preview pics are beautiful and the design looks lovely.  I too like the new ramps, matches well with Zeus area.

I made a few changes to the playfield, like I removed the droptargets and the vuk. I guess I got inspired in what they did in the real table :)

I also changed the rules accordingly, and I think I made the rules for killing the Gods a little easier and more varied.

Still the table is just the prototype with a few of my changes, but I think it will be fun to play.

The script is almost finished, I just need to test it a lot :) And add some light and flashers effects, and thunder, a lot of thunder sounds, anyway it is all about Zeus  :D
