File Name: Wipe Out (Premier 1993)

File Submitter: kiwi

File Submitted: 24 Apr 2019

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): Edizzle
Kiwi
Manufacturer: Premier
Year: 1993
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Wipe Out Premier 1993, DT FS and FSS, the table was built with VP 10.6

This is another table that caught my attention, but due to lack of resources I never started working on it.

Until one day, I was asked to complete the excellent table started by Edizzle,

I didn't immediately accept it because it was busy and there seemed to be other people already working on it, but then ....

Special Thanks to those who contributed to the creation of the table:

Akiles50000, supplier of photographic material and testers
Ninuzzu, the base of the WIP is from Ninuzzu, ski lift coding
Dark, 3d plastic slalom model
JPSalas, coding and testers
Drybonz, for some changes to the table
Gtxjoe, image inserts and domes
Zany, primitive flippers
JimmyFingers, sound routines
Arngrim, DOF
DJRobX, sound playback functions code
Rothbauerw, sound playback functions code
Thalamus, for adding and testing the sound playback functions code (SSF)
Flupper1, for the tutorial on how to make textures ramps
The VP and VPinMame Development Team.

I inserted the slingshots made with flippers,
I am trying this solution in Baywatch and I have seen the ball is thrown more upwards,
this prevents the ball from going (always) straight in the outlanes.
Sometimes it seems more real, sometimes unpredictable, try it.

To enable slingshot-flippers go to line 66 of the scripts and change the value of the constant "SlingM" to 1.

Const SlingM = 1

Note: the ROM is not available here, do a search on the internet.

hi.. i have a little problem with the sound that is very low... i try to boost it (F12 0db, or tilde, then boost all voice to 100%) but the overall sound is way under the level of the other pinball... can i do something else ?

edit : the problem is not with the mechanical sounds like ball rolling, but with the voices / music

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

thank you for your advice.. but i didn't see anything for a gotltieb like wipeout (gottlieb seem to be the only missing..) ... the only thing i found was to play with pinmame volume settings..

The only way to raise the volume on the Gottlieb tables is to click on the PinMAME (score) window, press the tilde key (the key to the left of the 1 key) to open a white box, use the up and down arrow keys to scroll to the volume channels then use the left and right arrow keys to lower or raise the volume.  When you are finished adjusting the channels press the tilde key to close the white box then click anywhere on the table to return focus to the table.

but it didn't work for my case...

The desktop and FSS mode don't have the real DMD, for this reason they cannot be selected with the mouse.

Launch the table in full screen mode, click on the DMD and use the Tilde Key method.

Duality of events!!!

After a longer time we played the table yesterday night, too. Yes, it is most proberbly one of the (or the) best late Gottliebs & and a masterpiece in recreation.
