File Name: Jolly Park (Spinball 1996)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 26 Oct 2018

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
akiles50000
dark
destruk
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1996
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: No

This table is based on the Spinball table from 1996.
Thanks to:
- Akiles50000 for all the traced and original images of all the parts of the table.
- dark for the 3d car objects
- destruk & TAB for their older table in which I based all the vpinmame script. I'm sure there was a reason why destruk did all those custom trough and drain routines.
- Gerrit for testing the rom and the vpinmame.

Some notes about this game:

- the magnets are activated by the magnasave buttons

- the table's rom takes longer than others to start, so it spends some time with the "volume" displayed in the DMD. Simply wait a little and it will start, then you can add coins and start playing.

- there was a small problem with the rom at the end of the game not releasing the locked balls. This was fixed by Gaston in vpinmame. So to play version 1.0.5 with this error fixed you need the latest beta vpinmame 3.2, available here: https://www.vpforums...ic=27063&page=1

Enjoy!

Thank you very much JP, Akiles5000, Destruk, Tab, Dark and Gerrit for this table and all the work you've previously done. It is guys like you that makes this all possible !

Looking forward to try this table out. Before the WIP thread started I had not heard of this table before. It looks like a fun table and since the dynamic duo JP and Akiles
( plus Dark ) is behind how this release. I'm confident that it not only plays well, but also is a beauty.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Phantastic recreation, as always.

One little problem: There are no ball rolling sounds, because the call for the appropriate sub is missing.

Fix: Add "RollingUpdate" in the "RealTime_Timer" sub.

I take note :) I guess I remove it when I changed the light routines and I forgot to add it to the realtime timer :)

You can already take the backglass image very well retouched by akiles50000 (thanks!) in the table (it's used as background in desktop mode) and update the static b2s backglass available here easily ;)

Here the result achieved in 5min :

Thanks JP for this beautifull table!! Didn't know it existed but very good!

Yes I had also to do that :)

Also something strange : in the magnetic house the ball is always taken in the "bleu quarter" and never in the pink and green ones (they are useless??)

And it's quite difficult to complete the 3 locks because each time the ball comes again/often in the same ones. Normal??

The "looping" works also strangely: when strike in it the ball often come back directly. Normal?

I guess you need to press the Magna Save buttons to activate the magnets so you can try to get the ball in the other holes. And yes, the magnets work. :) The ball falls there randomly, sometimes will go to the left and other times will go to the right.

The loop is hard to hit but not that hard. I have locked many balls during play testing.

Yes, I'll fix that in the next revision. The script was for older tables with the score lights on the backdrop, and I forgot to remove it. I only play desktop version, so sometimes I forget things :)

Thank for your reply, I didn't notice I can use magnosave button :D

Sorry my english isn't good enough, I was talking about the blue circle chart of the wheel. Until now my balls are always taken by the blue circle chart hole of the wheel and never by the pink and green ones.
