File Name: Freefall (Stern 1981)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 18 Jan 2017

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Stern
Year: 1981
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Table based on 1981 table Freefall from Stern.
This is a rebuild based on my VP9 table. I used the same images provided by StrangeLeo72, but this time I used bigger images.
I have not cleaned up the playfield and the plastics to they keep that "old" and "used" look, but still they look really nice :)
I have included the "controller.vbs" and the DOF commands so if you play it in a cabinet it should also load the b2s if you have it from the VP9 table.
Enjoy it and have fun! :)

Sweet. I do remember this from way back. Actually a very fun machine. Hopefully someone can make a better DB2S to go along with it. The one I have is a little rough.

Thanks JP

I don't know how it is the actual DB2S, but I have this backglass if someone want to retouch it a little. This is a picture taken by Leo (StrangeLeo72).

Thanks for this great table. Here is a bug I found. I am using the latest VPX and the spinner does not score anything for me.

This table is really fun to play.

Interesting and different table layout which fits with its wide and open playfield very well to the table name.

I have updated the table to version 1.1.0.

Arngrim has fixed the spinner error and added/changed some DOF commands.

I have also increased the plunger speed a little.

Looks like Fullscreen settings are way off. Anyone has an .xml they can export of their settings?

I am getting a script error at line 530. Object doesn't support this property or method. Left flipper.recoil. Using vp 10.2.1

You are running the VP9 table :) And that's right VPX doesn't support that command because it belongs to the old VP9.

UPDATE

4.0.0 Updated 28.9.2022
- Updated to my VPX7 physics
- cleaned up and deleted unused graphics & reduced the size of the table
- Added my VPX7 LUT changer to darken the table (hold down LEFT CTRL while change with RIGHT CTRL). Including GI brightness adjustment. Use the LUT changer together with the day/night slider to give the table the level of darkness you prefer.
- Updated my mechanical set of sounds to a more "under the glass" sound, as people seem to like those kind of sounds better.
- Changed the Environment image to enhance a little the object shadows.
- Some small small script updates, like the Rolling sound and PlaySoundAt routines.
- Made the light inserts warmer.
- Added SSF sound commands.
- New background for the desktop version.

I have watched some videos and this table was quite fast, with very strong bumpers and slingshots  I have tried to recreate the speed I saw in the videos. Enjoy :)
