Hi guys,

 

I really like VP and I also like downloading and installing new tables. But it is a lot of work and one has to download several files until everything is working together (Hyperpin, media files etc).

It would be really, really great if there was some kind of "base installation" available. Maybe one of you guys that has a great setup might share this with others?

 

There don't have to be hundreds of tables configured. I think a lot of people preferred fewer but working and nicely integrated tables?

Maybe release a torrent including all everything?

To do this correctly and respectfully, you would have to get permission from every single person that created a table, backglass, program, rom, or media pack that would be included in this "base installation".  

 

According to google, there appears to already be a vp9 torrent out  there...

I would do it the old fashoned way.

As easy as it seems to have a package as difficult it would be to get it work. Because every system is different especially if you have a cabinet it is nearly impossible to have a standard package

Absolutely possible. Personnaly...i get start with 350 tables and all stuff related give by a person in a private download. There is some project in developement right now to do this.

Let me tell you, if I find out tables I worked on are avalible in this download there will be a major issue..

Plain and simple it's wrong and needs to stop. Download the fucking tables your self one by one like the rest of us!!!!

This pisses me off to no end! All of you doing this shit is driving authors away from releasing tables!

For me...more organise will give more credit to developer at the end. Let s stop this to this thread. I have to go to tell my kids how they have to return me credits for all the time a past to build the pincab.

 I cant see why we cant have that....  but before that someone needs to go in that clean up what is a recreation and what is a VPM-recreation lots and lots of tables in the wrong categories

it should have been called EM recreations and VPM recreations 

 

but lazy F**ks that want one link to DL a catalog of tables, do it like the rest of use one at a time... its like Xmas everyday for a year or two, that no joke...

What would be easier is complete all in one packs that had no tables at all. I personally don't have a problem with downloading a table myself, but the major head banger is the inconsistency when it comes to descriptions. Something might be marked asdf (bally 1998) and something else asdf (Midway 1997)

 

It would be nice to have some kind of master spread sheet or standard somewhere that everyone followed and then that would eliminate a few steps.

why???.... and if you really wanted to do that go to http://www.ipdb.org/ and search by maker

then you will know the name to search for here or any other site

breaking it up here would make no sense.... because it would be make? em? SS? all that can be done in the advance search

its feels like people want to cater to the lowest common denominator ??

maybe just don't get it... its right in the description, every table holds all that info

You seem to not understand with HyperSpin and PinballX all file names must match the description almost exactly (With HP must exactly match) and yet they are not presented for download in that fashion.

this have nothing to do with anything but PBX sometimes thinks a Bally is a Williams or vice versa and sometimes it just a builders error naming it the correctly

neither can be fixed here, and again falls back to http://www.ipdb.org/ the source 

can you screen shot your folder structure?? I have a work around of what your saying

What in the blue hell don't you understand about the OPs request when he specifically talks about media files for HyperPin and to have everything functioning/working correctly?

 

This is why setting up from scratch is a million times more difficult than it *should* be.

I would never wanna miss my weekly trip with the thumb drive to the side of my cabinet, to install the newest release, the updates to a table, the updates to backglass's and whatever other updates are out there.  This hobby is great and I take a lot of pride every time I boot my cabinet up when friends are over and part of that is from knowing all the hours installing tables and of troubleshooting and reading the forums to figure out why I couldn't get a table up and running, but even more it is because I know 90% of my friends couldn't
