Hello all.  Been away from it for a while.  I got the itch to try my hand at building in VP10.  I wanted to try to build a table that hasn't been redone in a while and Akiles provided a lot of good images for Gottlieb/Premier's Wipeout, which I always wanted to build.  Unfortunately the only straight on, blank playfield image was of pretty low quality.  I really didn't want to start a redraw, but I ended up starting it, and many many MANY hours later, I think I'm calling it good enough.  It is by no means perfect, but I think it's close enough.  Some things I had to estimate but for the most part I tried to stay as true as I could to the original.  I used photoshop's Pen tool, which to my understanding vectorizes the strokes, but I could be wrong.  I know that photoshop isn't really a vector-centric suite, but it's all I have so I decided to try it.  If anyone is interested in cleaning it up, I can provide the psd file.

My intention was to try and build the table as well, but I'm quite burnt out after the redraw.  Additionally, I was working on some basic stuff on another table in VP10, and it's just too frustrating/difficult on my under-powered laptop, so I am hoping that this playfield will encourage one or some of the great builders here to take on Wipeout!  Or, perhaps a newcomer interested in building, because a good playfield is half the battle, right?  Hehe, truth be told, I was a little intimidated by the ski lift and slalom on this table anyways...wasn't quite sure how to script those.  Ok, anyways, here are some quick pics.

I don't know about other builders, and this is outside my skill area, but i find it very helpful to have all the holes for posts, screws, rails etc marked on the playfield as well.  just a thought, that looks awesome!

Please, if you can help me with a small contribution to update my work team and continue to make more tables I will be eternally grateful.

Cool! I love this theme, but haven't played this one much, mostly due to all of the other updated tables.. I always thought an updated version would be great. This looks beautiful.

Very good point gentlemen.  Here is an updated playfield with holes included.  I think I got them all...kind of hard to tell, but the ones I didn't include I think were designated as holes in the original design but were not actually drilled...I hope.  A quick and dirty job but should assist in placement of parts.  I also added the missing decal on one of the insert...oops.  You can probably notice it.

Thanks again Akiles...would not have attempted it without your great pics!

I ended up starting to script the table, just to see what it looks like.  Now, the table is a WIP, and needs lots of things to make it look nice, but it's pretty playable.  Could certainly stand to have some primitives done for the plastics, ramps, etc.  I really just threw those images in there (which are applied to walls and ramps) just for fun.  Missing lots of plastics, screws, rubbers, etc. and things need to be realigned and better positioned.  Also, the slalom is not scripted (moving it left to right)  and isn't really built correctly, and the ski ramp has no animation, and no real ball lifting mechanism.  I simply tied a kicker to be enabled when the ski lift motor is turned on.  also, there is a gate that diverts the ball to the ski lift when the ski lift is open.  If you get one ball onto the ski lift and get a second one in while the motor is still running, it will bring the second ball up to the slalom.  I don't believe this is how it works on the real table, but I don't know the mechanism to prevent that from happening.  Anyways, something that needs tweaking.  I think this is about as far as I can take it right now.  Anyone want to work with me to finish it up?  Let me know!  I can provide the redraws I have done in psd format.  thanks!

This table has come to me, many of you already know it.

I'm looking for an image of plastic under the slalom, it would be ideal to have a clean shot without targets, bracket, and guide.

img_1883.png

Other but not necessary, I would also like to have the plastic with mountains attached to the backpanel, and the plastic (vertically positioned) always with mountains placed to the left of the Rip the Crud wire ramp.

This is the state of the table.

The two mountains of the ski lift are two flat images, if anyone wants to do the 3D models, let me know,
I somehow maybe I can do this, but at the moment it seems a bit complicated.

I have many images of the two plastic mountains taken from above, I miss the images taken sideways,

I would be very helpful to model the plastics if there is someone who can get me the images that I miss.

Thanks
