File Name: Harley Davidson VP990 (Sega 1999)

File Submitter: edizzle

File Submitted: 15 Oct 2014

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): edizzle

Manufacturer: Sega
Year: 1999
ROM: Link to ROM
Media Pack: Link to Media Pack
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

It's been a long time coming but glad to finally release this table.

Long list of Thank Yous:

wtiger - playfield image
destruk/bezeen - VP8 table used for reference
frenetic - a whole bunch of crap, including bike models, bike animation, GI, lighting effects, and in general helping me learn new VP things
Dark - traffic light model and primitive gates, screws, and other hardware
Zany - ramp model, bumper caps
xgizzle - also was working on the same table separately. backwall image
Javier1515 - added ball rolling and collision sounds
All VP people for making this such a fun hobby

This is my first attempt at building from scratch, which was quite intimidating but again, the forums is always willing to help.  I definitely need to say Frenetic took this table to another level with all the things he added.

A unique thing about this game is the center ball save that can be controlled by the player.  I Guess it would be nice to have a magna save button for this one.  Hope you enjoy!

By the way, I am aware that this is listed as a Sega Table, but is using the Stern ROM.  Oh well.  The roms are exactly the same, game-wise.

There were 3 variants as I recall - the Sega/Stern ver 1, - 2nd and 3rd editions but I think the differences were cosmetic?

Or were there different ROMs?

For me it looks like Stern. Wonderful light show. I love your work so much. Many thanks to all who are involved. Bravissimo

This table is fun and looks great!!  Thanks for creating it.  I did have 1 issue and that is when the ball jumps in the left ramp coming down it jumped off the playfield on left side and got stuck, happened twice on the same game.  Attached is a screenshot

Dang,  Yeah, here is the strange thing for me...I have never had that happen when I play it on my laptop, which is where I build the table on.  When I tried it on my cab, I did have that happen a few times.  I don't understand why, as I am running the same VP 9.X version on both.  Don't know what the difference is.  I was going to try and make an invisible wall to prevent those airborne balls, but then it didn't happen for me again.  Well, I'll look into trying to fix that and release an updated version.  If anyone else finds a solution, please let me know as well.

Also, by the way, on that ramp, just before the hump, There is an opening on the ramp that will dump weak shots down to the pop bumpers.  It is hard to distinguish this from the FS top view, but that is supposed to happen.  Just and FYI if people start wondering about that.

I was hoping someone would do this table on VP. I played it a lot on my Ipad with TPA. Looks a plays well. Played several games in a row and didn't have the problem mentioned above. Thank you!

Hey guys - can you test this backglass I just created. It's a fantasy WIP (still working out some timing issues).

Update: Get the latest dB2S release posted in the backglass section.

We have 2 machines nearby, this and Metallica, at the greatest burger place in the world, Fuddruckers....you can imagine how much time I spend there :) This is a fun game for sure, the theme lets it down for some people but beyond that it has some cool things going on. The stoplight, the harley multiball, and the weird left ramp are all pretty clever. I was excited to help with this one and glad it's finally been released!

Thanks to all for putting this one together.  Table has been added to my favorites list.  Thanks edizzle for looking into that ramp issue, I too am running this on my cabinet.

Great job edizzle and all involved!  Really sweet table, Thank you!

Question, anyone else having problems getting a backglass to display with this?  Changes it to "B2s.Server", tried renaming and even using the known working BG from the bally table, renamed nothing no error message no BG?

I had this issue too - until I realized there is another section further down that has the VPinMame.Controller line. You need to change the second instance of it :)

Thanks a lot open6l, I feel a little stupid now!  I looked for a menu or B2S = Off type thing but I have never seen a script with two controller lines.  Now I know. :)

works fine for me but maybe it is because i had the version before and i highlighted to edizzle that controller is set twice on the script so you need to get rid of the second, in table init
