I updated my cab to VP 990 and can't run any vpinmame tables now. I get an out of memory error line 1 with every VPM table I try.

If I revert back to the latest VP 921 from March everything works fine again. I have the same hardware on my dev machine and can run either.

Is the FS mode perhaps stuck in the registry causing this error when I try VP990 since it requires windowed mode?

I even tried removing all tables from the registry and trying the VP990 again, and the same error happens.

Any ideas?

Well, the registry key for the DX9 version is under HKCU\Software\Visual Pinball\DX9 now so it shouldn't be conflicting. Did you go into video settings and set fake full screen and configure your video card memory?

No, I have to do that? Well, lets try that! Thanks.

Yes, you have to select windowed full screen mode.

ok, back to this out of memory error with the latest vp 990. I even tried 990a and get the same Out Of Memory when a table starts and goes into attract mode.

I checked the DX9 registry key and ensured the video settings were windowed fullscreen. I have the same box as a dev machine and it works fine, but can't get the cab to work with vp990.

If I try it a few times, I can see another error in a pop up after the out of memory error -  "OutCtrl" whatever that means?

I have no problem running any table on my cab with Visual Pinball 9.2.1 r932 (I think this is the last version before DX9). Help!

I´ve got the same problem.

I installed / uninstalled VP990 an directx several times without any improvement.

what i noticed is, that if i try running a table over vp990 my flashers checked at initalize very slow.

After all 5 Flashers where checked the error is being notified.

When i run a table over 921 the Flasher check is very quick without any errors.

Maybe this info helps!?

Interesting, thats the same place it errors out on mine. I forgot to add the cab has an LEDWIZ with 5 flashers while the dev box doesn't. Thats the only difference, but it may be the problem. Maybe there is something needed in the ledcontrol.ini or other supporting file for DX9?

Could this be related to the ledwiz. Cause I have no issue in my cab. What os

Attached File  ledcontrol.zip   6.93KB   20 downloads

Looks like the problem is in the ledcontrol.vbs. I see the Outctrl and Upperbound messages in this file that I get when I see the errors.

I'm using version 2.4.5 attached. Is anyone else using a different version?

Do you need that if you use the dof and db2s

I use the direct backglasses, but NOT dof. Perhaps I could try DOF.

I only have flashers and no contactors(solenoids) so I never looked into the DOF for just the flashers but maybe I should.

I will try turning off the LEDWIZ in the hyperpin if I remember how to see if this is the culprit.

I don't have anything installed in my cab yet. But as I understand. There is a config site attached to the other forum. It allows you to put what you have into a former and makes the configs based on your system. So if you only have flashers it only includes the flashers.
And from what I've been told it works better then the ledwiz config

Sure hope you get this figured out.

I would definitely switch to DOF.  It works much better all around.  Takes less resources to run properly but most importantly it allows the lights to fade in and out which is pretty cool on some tables.

Which physmod version are you trying?  I get major issues with 5 on several of my tables which include it crashing every time I try to start the table.  They work fine in phsymod2 though.

The problem seemed to be related to ledwiz, did you try disabling it (if you use it)?

Why would I disable the ledwiz? I have it on for my lights and shaker motor on my cab. It just doesn't make seance and seem like a viable solution, I installed the lights and shaker motor to actually use it. What has changed b/c it works fine under 921 and not 990.

Something must of changed.....

The strange thing is the only table that will run under 990 is Fire!

I beleive this is the problem with vp990 and the ledwiz files. I have no problem with any table and ledwiz with vp921 and my dev box which is basically the same config/hardware/video as my cab has no problems with vp921 or vp990. BUT my dev machine doesn't have the ledwiz files (ocx and ini's). I haven't had a chance to try DOF but I will. I would assume as a test you can disable ledwiz to prove the theory.

I noticed my cab had an older ledcontrol.vbs than some others are using (the latest is 2.4.7). You might try that, or someone that is still using ledwiz and vp990 successfully can maybe tell us what they changed to get it to work?

I'm using Ledwiz control, the main reason I haven't switched to dof is if I understand it right you have to run a db2s backglass to get the led effects to run. I can't run a number of tables with db2s b/c of stutter. So I only use a select few tables with db2s. If I understand it correctly I will lose out on all the tables I just use a static backglass or still uvp.

Seems only you both still have ledcontrol.vbs and have issues, it doesn't seem like a coincidence, there are no disadvantage to upgrade to dof, or even just try it
