File Name: Dungeons & Dragons FS (VPin 9.2.1)

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 03 May 2014

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1987
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: No

This is Dungeons & Dragons by Bally Full Screen.

Resources have been thin and so I was glad that Nerbflong provided me not only with highres images of the table but also with video footage to compare my recreation to. Based on his images I did a playfield redraw, extracted the plastics and reassambled the pin.
I also want to thank the authors of the VP8 table Destruk and Lander for the correct lights mapping. The Bally manual is no help there.
A desktop version will be done after the FS release (as usual).

Arngrim provided the DOF code that is activated only, if You set UseB2S to 1.

So please check, if Your magna save buttons are installed correctly on Your cabinet. This table is nasty, fast and fun.
You will almost certainly need the nvram file to start a game - it is availiable on this site.

Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings and suggestions.
Michael

Amaizng one, thanx.

Something wrong with plunger, it works ok but ball goes "deep inside" before plunging :)

Here is a pic showing what I mean:

Looks good!

I'm using a B2S backglass but I cannot get the DMD to stop displaying . What do I need to edit in the script to achieve this?

Using 990 RC 1 and can barely hear the table sounds as well. I'm also getting the strange plunger that Vinthar describes.

Cheers.

that was fast, thanks!

i'm trying to do the dof config, i got problems with the solenoid slingshots, in fact they are only triggered when the ball touch the top of the sling, i mean where it does not suppose to fire, on the angle, the solenoid are not fired, can you have a look at it?

Also, i try to use the lamps of the topper to the flashers, but when i try to use the lamp number from the manual, they triggers other lamps that expected...?

l69 fires l57 on the playfield

l68 fires l54 on the playfield

l67 fires l51 on the playfield

l35 fires l8 on the playfield

l32 fires nothing at all..?

you created these lamp objects, they are outside the playfield, bottom left of it, but i have lack of lamps knowledge, what are the right lamps number for these?

Thanks for your help Vinthar, any idea how I can adjust the sound. I'm not hearing the table sounds and any adjustment I make to the music and table sounds in options seems to have no effect. I have ticked override global settings as well. I'm getting no ball rolling, flipper or other table sounds. I think I can very faintly hear the flippers. Cheers.

Anyone else having a problem getting this table to take credits?  When I add credits, I hear a bell sound but the table will not start and give me a ball.

Table looks great, just wish I could play it.

this table makes very nervous because of the need to activate magnasave all the time, that can explain my bad mood of this morning :D

is there a way to have the magnasave activated longer, or always activated? :)

btw, for the dof config, here's how to have the gear to up ramp, and flipper contactors to magnasave,

Michael, can you add these lines to your next version? when b2s is deactivated, these adds are not triggered so there's no negative impact for anybody

Const cgamename = "dungdrag"

Sub DOF(dofevent, dofstate)

If UseB2S=1 Then

If dofstate = 2 Then

Controller.B2SSetData dofevent, 1:Controller.B2SSetData dofevent, 0

Else

Controller.B2SSetData dofevent, dofstate

End If

End If

End Sub

Sub DUD_Init

set DropTargetBank = new cvpmDropTarget

DropTargetBank.InitDrop Array(DropTargetTop,DropTargetMiddle,DropTargetBottom), Array(35,34,33)

DropTargetBank.InitSnd "Targetdrop1","TargetBankreset1"

pMillionRamp.rotx = -24

RampIsUp = True 'Ramp starts up

DOF 101, 2

RampTimer.enabled = True

MillionRamp.collidable = False

if (DimGI >= -100) and (DimGI <= 135) then

For each obj in GIString1Flashers

obj.Alpha = obj.Alpha + DimGI

obj.isvisible = True

Next

end if

Sub SolRightTeleporter(enabled)

if enabled then

MillionRamp.collidable = False

RampIsUp = True

RampTimer.enabled = True

DOF 101, 2

bsRightTeleporter.ExitSol_On

RightTeleporter.enabled = True

end if

End Sub

Sub SolFlexsaveRight(enabled)

if enabled then

RightMagic.rotatetoend

DOF 102, 2

else

RightMagic.rotatetostart

DOF 102, 2

end if

End Sub

Sub SolFlexsaveLeft(enabled)

if enabled then

LeftMagic.rotatetoend

DOF 103, 2

else

LeftMagic.rotatetostart

DOF 103, 2

end if

End Sub

Though I haven't tried this table yet, usually Bally tables can have 'coin door opened' with "END" key then you can adjust volume with '8' and '9' keys.  I know this works with modern tables but I'm not sure if it will work 100% with older tables.  Hope this helps.

How would one get rid of ball trails?  now all my games have it.  don't care for them.  ?
