Bally Mystic FS. Made in VP912. First release, August 2012.

Overwrite or add included NVRAM for this ROM, mysticb.nv, so that the recommended game settings load up for you. NVRAM folder is located in PinMame folder.
Requires ROM version mysticb.zip.

Been wanting to properly re-do this table again for a while since when I did it the 1st time, a flyer scan was my only resource. Last year I finally came across this table in real life & was able to take pictures. epthegeek helped a bunch by taking one of the pictures & redrawing it for me. I then added some lighting effects.

Then a big thanks to Wotto for getting me scans of his plastics.
In the making of this table I most definitely took bits of ideas, code & textures from various other tables/authors. Thanks to all those guys for helping directly or indirectly (UW, JPsalas, UR/Noah). Also used Eala's objects table for some things. Used JimmyFingers flipper code to soften backhanders & allow some flipper taps.

Used Inkochnito dip switch menu, which I actually modified a bit. Also if I'm not mistaken, the 7 digit rom that this table uses also were created by Inkochnito.
I created a rule set you can pull up by pressing "R", based on JP's rules menu's.

Don't think there is much else you need to know. Look over the rules & try to hit 7 digits. To make things a little easier, I did default the game mode to "extra ball". So basically in this mode you'll get an extra ball or 50k for 1 of the specials instead of replays.

Novelty mode that I added to the dip could be good to try as it awards points for EB's & specials, & maybe try replay mode too if EB mode is too easy for you. I've also defaulted to 3 ball, but if you want to try 5 ball, there are a couple dip settings you should uncheck (the 2 items that say (3 ball) after them), to get recommended 5 ball defaults.

I've actually updated the table already with what I think could/should be better physics, a better feel. I may just upload it to this thread seperately & people can give feedback on it before I decide to make it official. Because I just don't seem to have the spare time to give it a few proper plays myself. Plus I'm pretty burned out on it.
Here it is, let me know if this might have an even better feel...

Thx a lot Rob046, I'll try to give both versions a good play test since I'll be up a while. The table looks great and if it plays half as well it'll be a real treat!

I'm also a sucker for any kind of circus/magic/carnival type theme. Probably due to the effect Funhouse had on me at such a young impressionable age.

Beautiful work Rob. The lighting and crispness of the graphics is extremely well done. The gameplay is very nice and I enjoyed the little tweaks and sounds of the rubber hits.
This is definately cabinet worthy. A great release for Mystic. Props to epthegeek for the beautiful redraw!

I added the UVP and noticed its 6 digit display, so I changed the line in the script for 6 digit:
In case anyone has difficulty, its one line change.

Const cGameName = "mystic"
'Const cGameName = "mysticb" 'bootleg 7 digits rom

We can modify the UVP for 7 digits, but the displays would be smaller. I may do that at some point if there is interest. I took a screenshot for you from my test rig before I move it to cab. Can't wait to give it a play after work. Great stuff! clapping.gif

UPDATE
v1.41. - I figured I should add 6 digit & UVP support after what LTA mentioned. UVP code is all there now, just search code for "UVP" & it should take you to the 3 spots where you'll need to enable some code. & since I was considering updating the file anyhow with that I think/hope should be even better physics, figured this was a good time to do that as well. & I did end up getting a chance for a couple games & I feel pretty good about the changes. Table maybe feel a bit slower, but hopefully in a good way. Nothing too major though. Flippers may feel just a little stronger or at least the ball seems to travel better to the top, & aiming may feel just a little better. Also I think I restored a little bit of power to some backhanded "on the fly" shots. I did want to tame those, but maybe I went a little too far in the previous version. Couple other little things but that is the bulk of it.

Just installed your latest update. It looks great and the table plays, but no scores appear on the BG. I tried both the 6 and 7 digit versions and 2 different backglasses but no scores appear. I have 170 tables on my cab, but I've never had this happen before. Any ideas ? Thanks

Thanks for a great clean looking remake. Its going on my favorite list since it looks and plays so nice. As others have said, the little sounds when hitting the rubbers and captive ball makes it seem so real. Thanks again Rob046 and others that helped make this awesome VP table.

Check if you have all these three things that are necessary for UVP to work:

- controller is set to UltraVP.BackglassServ

- timer is defined with the name Leds and the timer interval is set to 50

- subroutine is added to the script that looks like this:

Sub Leds_Timer()
Dim ChgLED
ChgLED = Controller.ChangedLEDs(&Hffffffff, &Hffffffff)
End Sub

If any one of these is missing, you won't see the scores on the backglass.

Yes, you need to change this line in the script:

from this:
'Const cGameName = "mystic"
Const cGameName = "mysticb" 'bootleg 7 digits rom

to this:
Const cGameName = "mystic"
'Const cGameName = "mysticb" 'bootleg 7 digits rom

The UVP is setup for 6 digit displays ONLY.

You want .Hidden=1 also or you will see the DMD.
and you want the bottom Leds_Timer() uncommented like this

Sub Leds_Timer()
Dim ChgLED
ChgLED = Controller.ChangedLEDs(&Hffffffff, &Hffffffff)
End Sub

AND you need to add a timer to the table entitled LEDS and set it for 50ms
(click Timer, put it next to the table, name it LEDS, mark it enabled and put 50 in the box)

Everything needed should already be in the latest update. I put the LEDS timer in there as well. So all that should need done is uncommenting the 3 areas of code (search "UVP" in the code to make it easier)

Rob, you are missing the timer in your latest update, thats why its not working.
You have the lines of code in the script to uncomment, but you don't have the physical timer.

Damn, I know I added it, but I must of forgot to save the table or something before uploading? Of course its not a game breaker, but I'll update the table with the timer anyhow in just a minute. Thanks again for the help.

It is updated with the timer. v1.42. Of course, no need for anybody to download this if you already have v1.4.1. Just add the timer like LTA said above, or download this version... either way.

can you post a SS of your recommended DIP settings, in case people don't want to mess with the nvram file business?
