INDEPENDENCE DAY v2.2
VP9 Recreation by Nealtron
Based on the 20th Century Fox film Independence Day, ©1996
Also known as "ID4"

Design: Rob Hurtado
Art: Jeff Busch
Dots/Animation: Kurt Andersen
Mechanics: Rob Hurtado
Music & Sound: Brian Schmidt
Software: Neil Falconer, Orin Day

This table is my first Visual Pinball recreation. It has been quite a learning process. I took the liberty of changing some minor details from the real table such as: The Alien Head light illuminates the eyes instead of the space between the two sections, the Space Ship has a red flasher & a white flasher (as opposed to two white flashers), I added a red directional light to the Shoot Lane & a spinner with the ID4 logo to the left ramp.

The .zip file includes the table, B2Bcollision.vbs, and ID4_Rules; extract all files to your Visual Pinball tables folder.
I highly recommend you leave the "HD Render" box checked to insure proper rendering of transparent ramps, spinners and the Alien Eyes lights.

Featuring:
Working "Alien Head" toy
Working "Space Ship" toy
4- Stage Fading Lamps
PK & Steely's "Ball Collision" effect
2- Page Interactive Rule Sheet

Keys/ Button:
Use keys 8 and 9 to adjust ROM volume. (I recommend a volume of 4 or 5 so the sound effects are audible)
Press 7 to enter the ROM menu (where you can make various adjustments including difficulty)
Press R for the Rule Sheet/ Pressing the Center Nudge key (Spacebar) will advance to the next page/ exit

I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS TABLE!!!
Your comments and suggestions are very welcome!

Nice looking table. Why doesn't the spaceship show up? Only a grey circle in it. I've put all files in my 9.0 table folder.

I really like this table, and I just want to say thanks. Though, I have to say something about two of the only problems I seen with this table. One is that I had to make that flipper up above on the right a different color because it's very hard to see - so I made it red.

The other thing is that the 3 lights (I don't know what you call those) above, I really couldn't see them so I had to take away the walls that come after them so I could see which lights are lit, and which lights aren't to get a 1X thing.

Could you tell me how to change the colors of those lights (to get a 2X, 3X, etc) to even make them more visible - probably red? I can't figure it out. Thanks.

 On a widescreen monitor the table width looks slightly out of proportion but otherwise, great job on the game play.

Thanks for adjusting the dimensions for wide screen monitors.   It looks and plays great. Outstanding work!

After a few tries, the link worked. Strange

Version 2.2

This table looks great but was unplayable for me because the ball always got stuck on Ramp25 (top upper left ramp below the red flasher). The reason is that Ramp15 and Ramp60 are actually higher than the bottom of ramp 25 causing the ball to hit the top of ramp 15/60 when rolling across ramp 25. I'm not sure why no-one else noticed this.

Anyway, I fixed it by changing values:
Ramp60 -> Position -> Top Height = 100
Ramp15 -> Position -> Top Height = 100

I hope this helps someone else.

I just had to read the section the author put where I could adjust the volume, I am loving the table now with the audio raised, so cool.

Awesome great table
