Gorgar spoke me, and I liked it. dirol.gif
Poor mechanics on this game I've seen better renditions of this game. thmbdn.gif thmbdn.gif thmbdn.gif
Gorgar Rocks, its digital pinball guys, nothing more, nothing less. I for one enjoy playing these classics on my pc, this table plays great. Thanks
About the same difficulty as the original Gorgar machine. I enjoy this very much. Can still remember my friend slamming his hand down on the glass everytime he lost a ball.

I've wanted to play Gorgar since I heard that Helloween song. Great job on the recreation! The graphics, gameplay and sounds are all top notch! The game still holds up very well in my opinion, it's very fun to play.

Game doesn't seem to work.

Working fine for me in 9.2.1. Looks gorgeous, even a little spooky. Play mechanics are good, it unfortunately just has a very outrageously placed right outlane that makes the game hard to enjoy.

Table with ball running too fast. A little bit slower would be better to play.

To have this play properly in 9.2.1, I had to do the following...

1. To fix the "zoomed in to upper right of table" issue, make sure the Options and Backdrop buttons in the upper left are depressed.
On the right side, expand the "Colors & Formatting" section and set the values under it as such:
    54, 33, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0

2. To fix the huge DMD, a different ROM has to be chosen. Change line 35 of the script to be the following:
   Const cGameName = "grgar_t1"

And, yes, you'll need to download the above ROM file and put it in your "roms" directory. Just do a search on the forums for: grgar_t1
And any time you change the script, you likely need to compile it... so, in the script editor menu bar, click Script > Compile.

3. The ball speed feels a bit slower than other VPinball offerings but I actually had my best game thus far with it at the author's default value of 30.
If you want to make it faster, open the script editor and go to line 60:

    Gorgar.MaxBallSpeed = 30                '************************May need to adjust

Note that even the author made the comment that the MaxBallSpeed may need to be adjusted.
The higher the value, the faster it can go. At 150, it feels more like the real pinball machine. I'm currently at 60 but I'm thinking of bumping it up more (~90).
I'm not sure what range of values are allowed for this assignment, so going above a certain amount may not have distinguishable results.

In the end, it depends on your computer's specs. On an older laptop, a speed of 30 was a bit slow, whereas it was too fast for "bvebrasil" above.

So, you'll need to experiment and see what works best for your computer.

As for some reviewer's not finding this offering to be their favorite VPinball build of Gorgar, each offering has its pros and cons. I'm not always fond of other table's high-ball-drain table angles and/or gravity settings, etc. Though I do tend to like their separated scoring areas (like the real Gorgar has). So, it all just "depends". In the end, you may have to tweak whichever table has the greatest visual appeal to you, in order to get it to perform acceptably (e.g. so it doesn't feel like it's almost completely vertical, etc.). I wish you the best in your journey and decisions. No matter what, Gorgar is still one of my favorite tables. The quest for the perfect VPinball version of it continues...
