Download Buster Ball 2.1.0
2 Votes
Recreation of Genco's 1931 Buster Ball.
This is the first flipperless table recreated for VP 9.x and higher only, meaning that it isn't playable in VP 8.x and lower.
In the past people had problems with the key to get the ball in front of the plunger. The reason was that they didn't start the game. First pay with "5", next start the game with "1" and then you can get the balls in front of the plunger with "A".
Version 2.1:
- Removed bugs caused by nudging
- Redrawn lower playfield
- Updated high scores script
Version 2.0:
- Completely rewritten script
- Kickers removed
- High scores added

Pressing "A" just makes the sound but nothing happens.
Thanks very much
@xamindar: That's strange, especially because you hear the sound. Which version of VP are you using?
Pressing "A" doesn't work for me either. VP 9.12 (latest version at time of writing this).
Also, there is an issue of the kicker cups not rendering for anybody using a nvidia card. This is a known issue for people running windows 7, maybe vista as well.

I guess you don't push the keys "5" (add coin) and "1" (start game) before you start the game and press "A"? If so, the "A"-key indeed only makes a sound, but the balls are still locked in sight. I'll make an overlay image for the kicker cups later this week.
Themer, I think I know what's wrong and why people are having trouble with the ball. These comments are made using VP 9.1.5.
Firstly, people are assuming that they would be able to see the ball on-screen. This isn't actually the case with your table. What people need to do is press A and hear the plunger gate go down, then wait until they hear the plunger gate go back up once the next ball is in the right area. You still won't see the ball though, so just use the plunger!
Secondly, for some reason, sometimes the plunger is blocking the entry of the balls into the right area. I can't seem to reproduce it reliably, but sometimes the balls are blocked. It might be worth raising the end of the slope just a bit to make sure they go on the plunger.
Hope this helps!
