Initial announcement from Jeff:
conversion of PBecker's VP9x table to VPX
Thanks to PBecker and Itchigo for the VP9x version.
My view on Big Valley: I owned the game ~ 1978, it was VERY popular in Germany. We spent nights with this relatively simple pinball. But multiball was the thrill ...
Today I offer you my Version 1.0a. After the criticism for the BG at Circus I experimented with light gradients for the Big Valley BG. I have made a mix of lamps, snippits and lighted letters.
GAME/PLAYFIELD
- new game physics, I experimented hours and hours to meet the ball- feeling I have in mind for this game
- new POV for cab users
- slight layout changes in order to reduce ball losts
- bumper caps now with fixing screws and aligned lighting
- rolling ball sound level adjusted
- some new sounds (Jeff had given already the game a very good score motor sound)
- all object sounds now in operation
BACK GLASS
- rolling score reels
- 3 big snippits for the decorations avoids overexposure at color edges
- score memory: when you leave the table and reload it the score of the previous use will be indicated
-> attention: I changed the nv ram concept in order to implement this functionality, if you have still a nv ram in the user- folder delete it or replace it with the nv ram you find in the zip file (it is the BigValley_70VPX.txt), otherwise the table will crash when loading the 1st time.
- no click sounds from the BG anymore, no interference between BG and game sounds
-> thanks to Jarr3 for his sound removal tool for BGs
- ZIP contains game, BG file, nv ram (Big Valley_70VPX.txt), BG- and PF- pics for cab users
All this in kind tribute to Jeff Whitehead.

Great work.
Thanks for the update!
Very nice update! Thanks!
Superbe travail. Belle conversion de cette table avec son génial multi-billes !
Merci Mustang 1961.
This table was so ahead of its time, love it!
FYI, I did encounter a bug... I ended up with 2 balls getting fed to the plunger at the same time. I think what happened was that when I had 2 balls in play, I drained with one and hit one of the top saucers at the same time, and both events fed a ball to the plunger.
Just thought id bring to your attention , the chime volumes are very low by default, i
only noticed this as i wasnt hearing any chimes from bumper hits.
Easy to increase volume if you know how, some might not.
I ended a game with balls in both holes and they stayed there for the next game. Are they not supposed to come out and reset for a new game?
Very good table and a fine artwork as well. Thank you very much, Mustang.
Great table. Thank you.
