howzat hankin 1980
Based on the table by Hankin from 1980.
Graphics redrawn by me. It took a while to redraw, and I guess some parts could be better, but it is much better than what I found on the web.
VPM script based on Tom & destruk's script from Assie34's VP9 table
I made a very simple directb2s. Feel free to improve it
Remember to use the day/night slider to adjust the table's brightness, or you may use the LEFT and RIGHT CTRL keys to adjust it. I have included 10 normal light levels and 10 warm light levels.

What's New in Version 6.0.0 (See full changelog)
- 6.0.0 Updated September 2025
- - Moved LUT to User Options (F12)
- - Added some extra options to the User Options (F12)
- - Updated physics to my latest rev 4.3.1. mostly bouncier rubbers and harder flippers.
- 5.5.0 Updated 13.12.2024
- - New playfield mesh to avoid the ball getting stuck on top of the flippers.

- - Updated physics to my Rev3. Including physics materials, flipper code and slingshot shapes.

Thanks again JP!
Thx so much for this one. Been waiting for a VPX version.
As a 12-year-old in 1980 in Australia where my favorite past time was hanging out in arcades - I did not come across this Hankin table often. Much more common was seeing the Hankin Empire Stikes Back ... they were everywhere.
For those in the USA. Some cricket details for you:
- "Howzat" is short for "How is that?". A Bowler (equivalent of Pitcher) would ask the umpire for a decision.
- Denis LIllee was Australia's No1 bowler and at the time had taken the most wickets in the history of Cricket in 1980
- The music in the rom is actually a novelty song that became a hit in Australia in 1978/79 called "Cmon Aussie Cmon" - google it on Youtube if you are keen or find it here:(7) (MOJO Classics) "C'mon Aussie C'mon" Aust. Cricket TV Ad Original 1979 - YouTube.
Gracias JP ! como siempre un gran classico.
El playfield sale muy cortado en modo Cabinet, es normal ?
As an Aussie, remember never liking this pinball much, as I didn't follow cricket, but its still pretty special to have this in the collection. Well done JP.
Muchisimas gracias JP! ![]()
