Here is Bally’s 1978 classic Paragon for VPX. This table is a monster. Very wide, very heavy, very difficult and very fun. I hope this version does it some justice. I spent 2 hours playing it on location last weekend and think the VPX version mimics it nicely.

32assassin rewrote the script for me some months back. This was my first SS project at the time and I had a real Frankenstein mess going on. Thanks, 32a!

Make sure you run this with the latest VPX 10.2 build.

My view on this game: first I want to thank bord for his permission to publish this mod. Unfortunately 32assassin does not answered my pn, now 30 days ago. 1979, what a year in pinball history! I was 18 years old and the word was mine. And ALL amusement halls. Paragon is the perfect reflection of the mood of these times. I played Paragon the last time at CP's Pinball in South Roxana, MO, it was in 2017.

Here I offer you my version 1.0a with these changes:
° game
- new physics, cap optimized, I touched nearly everything
- new POV for cab users
- nearly all sounds are new
- all object sounds in operation
- slight game layout changes in order to reduce ball losts
- protective shields for drop targets, avoid dropping when hit from the side
° BG
- improved appearance of the plasma displays - thanks to Martin Brunker who gave the measures of       his KISS displays (he owns the real game)
- light messages adjusted in place and fonts

- as ever zip contains game, BG and pics for cab users

Looks great, nice story about your history with this one.  thank you.

My fav table!  Thank you!!

Lord knows I can use any helpers but I think the metal wire between the two righthand side flippers is wrong?

Thanks for the table!

... i also think so.

a bord Table with changes, that must be a big reason :) ... but well, thanks.

I think there was/is also another Paragon Version, with just 2 Flippers (?) or something different.

Trés beau travail !

Merci

Thanks for the table!

You are right, this wire is not in the original game, delete it if you don't like it. But as written in my introduction I made the game easier, this wire is a part of that.

Very nice!  What is the "a" update do?  Thanks!

I respect your work but is it possible to improve Bord's tables? :)

Thanks for your work Mustang1961 :)  Every author starts-out doing mods, whether or not they're published. At least you're unafraid of scrutiny and willing to learn how to do it,  just to give back to the community.  Authors are rare beasts in this hobby and a little encouragement doesn't go astray. You won't get a parade, but you can find personal enjoyment and the satisfaction of being a contributor that helps to keep this hobby alive. Mod them any way you like, and folks can take it or leave it, as usual, and certainly listen to genuine feedback but try to ignore the noise from the fanboys.

I think bord would be quick to agree that nothing is perfect, otherwise we'd all still be playing all those "perfect" "masterpiece" VP9 tables.
